Under The Abyss - Demo 2008

Under The Abyss

Demo 2008

14/05/09

This is the kind of thrash I love ! It has everything just exactly where it shall be: the production is massive and right in your face, songs are written like a steam hammer, leads of guitars are like angels diving into hell. To put it it a nutshell, it's the most promising demo I've listen to for more than two years.

You think Metallica revived in Trivium, I think the guys out there did even best in the genre. There is something of Machine Head somewhere that increases the madness and the freshness of this demo.
No hardcore crap, just insane thrash at its best.

It's only four tracks, but listen very closely, and you'll see it's pure madness.
I can't wait for the album, and maybe for intensive touring around the world (yes I'm that confident in this band).

THE GALLOWS

This is probably the best heavy metal album out there, it is simply brilliant !
Song are very well written, musician are talented and the production is massive and modern.
From the begining till the end of the album, this is pure gold.

If one would draw a comparison, the first band that came to my mind was Persuarders (which at the time reminded me somewhat of Blind Guardian). I guess it is due to the singing, which is pretty close in the style, but somehow with more variations. The guitars are also more modern, more in the vein of Machine Men, and leads are impressive.
In terms of global atmosphere, I would say it is definitely inspired by King Diamond, especially the later albums (I'm a huge fan of the puppet master - this is exactly the ambiance of this album). I think this album is a must have for fans of those KD's albums.

Again, great album. I hope the guys will have the opportunity to tour around Europe, as they deserve it.

Very nice album which reminds me the first Iced Earth album (maybe by the singer). The style is obviously old school thrash, and I like it. Musicians are talented, guitars fast as hell and highly melodic, drums are precise and direct.
It is nice to see good metal arriving on jamendo.

Talented musicians, great music. Maybe not the most inspired album ever done (very common twin guitars and catchy melodies). Nevertheless, it's very pleasant, far better that most of the *metal* stuff on jamendo... :)

David TMX - fournée d'automne

Rhalala.
