Honesty, I think The Sterns are an undercover project of The White Stripes. There, now you got what the music is like. Very well produced three pieces of contemporary, driving Rock'n'Roll. Looking forward to hear more from them (no matter which name they will use ;-) ).
This album is labeled with "rock" and "alternative" and was actually listed in the search results for "rockabilly". My expectations thus were pretty much missed and I found the music simply boring.
However, for those who like pop music with a tiny slab of "alternative" the album might be OK. Its labels are just wrong.
Fresh Body Shop have been through an interesting developement: From quite rough and dirty Indie Rock via Electrofied Indie to Pop with their current album "My Yellow Microphone". The songs are, as others said, quite catchy, and the production balances out very well professionalism and authenticity.
I personally liked their rocky times better, but there is no doubt about their prolificness and bright musical future.
Excellently recorded, appeals this album particulary those with a romantic heart, yet the lyrics are far more than that.
I particulary like the minimalistic orchestration, i.e. a guitar and a voice. Both are amazingly mastered by the respective artist. I am looking forward to hearing more from Bella Ruse.
Quite unusual genre mix: Chanson, hip hop, jazz and other genre. This unexpected combination make the album an interesting piece of work. In fact, it sounds to me like a concept album with a story, alas my french is too bad to understand the story if there is one.
While ZeQu's album "Tangtronic" impressed me with it's sophisticated sound and production, and became part of my tangonuevo playlist, ZeQu demonstrates with this acoustic album that he has even more to offer.
A warm and distinctive singer, his songs and interpretations never dreary, ZeQu's new album offers music rather to listen to than to dance to.
A brilliant album, rooted in tradition, yet unmistakeble modern.
