Listened to this right after possibly the best jazz I had ever heard from this site. Now I'll have to rethink what's now best.
Very good well rounded sound, performed flawlessly. This is very good stuff.
In fact I normally hate it but I like this album and I'm going to put it into the song rotation in my show. Good Job.
I only understand a few words of French, and it doesn't mater. If you can listen in a foreign language and find the music mesmerizing it has to be good.
First think I thought of was Paul Butterfield from the late 60's. I really like this style of music, probably because it had such an impact on me when I was young and impressionable. The horn work is great but I would like to see a bit more of the low end picked up, sometimes that's miking and sometimes it's just the horn. The bass element in the riffs is a bit thin, for my liking. I liked the slide as well.
Overall both songs were good but I can understand how someone that may not be Blues inclined could find it boring. I personally can't stand rap so that's what makes us all individual we all like different things.
I'm going to put the Zero album into our music rotation for March.
