This album is what can happen when a singer-songwriter with extraordinary talent and insight does not sell out to commercial interests. The arrangements and matter of fact delivery have drawn comparison to Peter Gabriel, with the folk rock appeal of Steven Stills. I also hear the plain truth of icons like Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin. The guitar/voice songs at the end deserve special consideration, and really need to be heard by as many thoughtful people as possible. I predict that Val Davis will soon take his place among significant musical artists of the generation.
