This is a really great punk rock album that seems to have been somewhat overlooked around here.
Lots of variation, from the almost pure hardcore punk of És Kész to the mellower Honvágy, through the more mature and dark Elbasztad, maybe the best song on the album, with a very melodic chorus and a great main riff. Not that the other songs don't give it stiff competition for being the best song, far from it. There's the aforementioned És Kész; Újra, with more variation in vocal styles, the funny Made in Kína and the urgent and infectious Pont Pont Pont Pont.
Despite the great variation (no two songs sound the same, definitely), it's very consistent, and there's not really anything that I could point out as a weakness (maybe only Honvágy being a bit too slow, but it was an ok song for me) in this really good, energetic and well-produced album. It's not often you see all these qualities at the same time, so get it fast if you're a fan of punk rock, but Elbasztad should surely appeal to an even wider audience.
The album gets a fast and great start "Copyleft Notice", a song that tells why and how they're here, among other things: really should become the Jamendo anthem!
Out of Tune defies good taste with great and funny attacks on authority, religion and economy, in songs that display great skill and variation, specially considering it's punk.
It's influenced by various styles such as hard rock (in "Technocracy", but also at double speed at "Call of Duty") and progressive rock, that has its influence felt all over the album, since the rhythms and riffs aren't obvious: Out of Tune play fast, but they aren't taking shortcuts.
It's worth noting the awesome bass at the start of "God is a Coward", one of the best songs, along with "Eat Your Leaders" and "Copyleft Notice". But even the weakest songs (like "Mimosa", where I think the vocals didn't work well) won't leave you bored; there's far too much variation for that to happen.
In short, "Discontent Producers" is awesome, angry, funny, smart, and never stops. A strong recommendation to any hardcore/punk fan, but also to hard rock and heavy metal fans.
By the way, great cover!
