Fluid is the word for this album - a true masterpiece if I ever heard one. Marvelous vocals and beautiful poetry. This album has been around for a few years but since I have stumbled on it just now and got hooked….
I adored Papillons "…a thousand silver butterflies danced fearless among the waves" was such a beautiful vision that I could forgive the sadness of the story about letting a friend down.
The song "Emma's Bridge" was so unique with the transient sound of the musical instruments playing differing genre's while accompanying the singer who sang in a sultry tone (reminiscent to me of the 1930's cabaret style music).
The Latin Jazz song "Barrio Chino" had a catchy tune sung by an endearing male voice. "Barcelona" was so foot tapping, it was delightful and that wonderful whistling was just the right touch to this tune.
And what was "Ender?"
There was quite the asian flavor to the first section of that song, but its beginning with the radio static and the thousand hammers beating on metal or an exceptionally loud typewriter - and then a beautiful melody and song. It ended the same way it began. I just loved "Ender" - it made me question my sanity. Can that be a good thing?
Also we have these Interludes - three of them altogether. Interesting little pieces, melodious in a devious way. "Ordinary Day" was an incredibly beautiful song with a sweet melody and lovely lyrics. "Running on Empty" was a fantastic finale - I stand and applaud - 'encore, encore. '
I love this album, and the artists' wizardry in using my headphones to manipulate me, my emotions and perceptions; entertaining me with delightful stories; lulling me with beautiful harmony and melodies; amazing me with inventiveness and artistry - this is an album that has it all. One of the very best.
"Day and Night" has a very attractive album cover. It was very appealing with the tree dividing the day from the night. Poetic actually. That's what initially attracted me to this album. Then of course I was attracted to the name on the album. It has a nice alliteration to it. I tend to go for that type of thing.
A very lovely package wrapped around a specially nice thirty-seven minutes of beautiful and interesting elektronika. I was especially fond of "Magic Flute" with its whispering voices, wind, birds, and exotic flute. I felt like I was on vacation in paradise. I didn't care for the very ending of "Peace" but all the parts before that were very nice.
This artist uses a mix of lovely melody with a generous helping of interesting sounds throughout. I think he is trying to paint virtual pictures of his topics, such as in "The Two Faces of Love" and the way the song changes drastically from beginning to end with the whispering voice being the bridge (in a connecting sense); repeating, "love."
I found this entire package to be quite interesting and attractive all at the same time. I feel that there is more depth to this music than one can comprehend at first listen so I am going to listen again - til I get it.
I love that voice - it is raw, passionate, powerful - something about it reminds me of Janis Joplin. The album featured some wonderful guitar, the music is great - outstanding rock, and blues - it has a good live sound. But what ties it all together is that nakedly unrefined, unique, poetic voice. I found it to be appealing and mesmerizing. Nothing bland about this album.
Hey - this is actually not bad. It has its appealing side as it starts out. Its as if someone is just poking around at a tune and then finally gets warmed up and puts together a really great piece. It flows on and on like a soothing river boat excursion on a warm, breezy day, with no one to annoy you - and if you are exhausted from a long horrible week on the job you can just lay back in the sun and . . . . .
. . . . . . .yea - that was nice!
There might be a few river bugs to bite you though. I think Mr. FHA1960 is the type of musician to make something out of my proverbial 'kazoo in the shower' because some of this long track seems to be experimental key stroking and poking in a few interesting sounds here and there. Overall though the underlying melody is very nice. And as I said, I actually rather enjoyed this album.
The melody in "Pizzicato" gave me chills - I liked that one quite well. It has such a nice tempo I want to put it on my mp3 player and take it for walks. I have a very fast pace and almost fly and this song would keep up with me. Same with "Poolsart." I liked the piano and the big drums in this one. "The Winner Break" was quite edgy. The broken voice in this song seemed strange which goes along with an experimental attempt at being a little different. "Nodo Op" had some symphonic and operatic moments which struck an unique chord but not overbearing, just interesting and pretty.
This is a very nice little album. As far as I can see there is nothing else (on Jamendo) by this composer and sixteen minutes is a very short bit of time to tell much about an artist. But the album was consistently good and creative. It kept my attention and was altogether very enjoyable.
I heard a lot of little touches which gave this music some extra special style. This album had sweet melodies plus expert compositions which equals pleasurable listening. Well, I can't really say that listening to this music would bring peace on earth, but it might if we all listened. It seems to have a positive, unearthly message buried somewhere in the electronics. Must be all that nature our young musician communes with in his rural mountains. All that fresh clean air, mountain springs and bird song gave him some divinely creative ideas. This ethereal music is lovely, and a joy to listen to as you chillout wherever you wish.
Has a fairy tale-ish feel to it which transports the listener into medieval times or a fairy land, or a fantasy story. The tracks have a nice progression to them presenting the fable sequentially, which was nice for the listener.
Bells, flutes, drums, lutes, light and flighty made "Meadowland" a nicely sweet intro to this album. "Young Knight" was really excellent with a medieval dance in the castle - perhaps to say good-by during a feast. Loved the big drums in that one. "Mission of Evil Omen" had some great bells and electronic vocals - very ominous. Perhaps the wise men were warning them against their mission. "Assemblage in the Castle" was a grande song, with suitable majesty and glory. "Cart Journey of the Princess" seemed rather sad and pensive. "Playing in the garden" is a lightly frolicking piece, with a nice piano, and other instruments. It had that certain glittering lilt that is used in medieval music and with a gentle tempo. And "Lonely Hero" with the simple piano, the solemness of the instruments and the clopping of the horse trotting into the mists - and a dejected hero - but with a tiny ray of hope.
I really love this album. Whenever I wish to write a fairy tale or some other type of fantasy I can listen to this and garner a story from this fabulously designed album. The music on this album was very melodic and it was a huge pleasure to listen to all the tracks. It would be great in a film or game but I know what I'm going to use it for - just great listening - and fantasizing!
Excellent! ! Love the vocals, lyrics, guitars, music, melodies, songs, recordings!. . .Repeat - repeat - repeat - repeat - and repeat. . . . . And then we play it again.
You guys are great together. See the smile upon my face? Well you should. This album is so good and needs to be heard to be believed. I love these collaborations on Jamendo. It is just so cool to hear the results because two good artists - double the pleasure. This is a must listen for all music lovers. I can't say that I have a favorite because the whole album is pure enjoyment.
Wow! That is nice. The interplay between the vocals and the instruments is interesting. The male singer seems almost resistant to the melody, rather prosaic as if he is depressed, or repeating the same old sad story. He has a good voice for this song. The instrumental version of "Izmena" was really wonderful. It was rich with melody and tone and was an outstanding recording. It is obvious that the composer put in a lot of effort and a lot of attention to detail
I love this concept and collaboration. I love the idea that we should find our dreams and follow them again - like we thought we would when we were children. The music is light, uplifting and just lovely, backed by the powerful talent displayed by these artists. It is a beautiful and non burdensome road to follow as I am listening to these exceptional songs and lullabies for our inner child. I would say that this music is relaxing for the soul and in a way gives peace to our hearts.
