Van Syla - The Age of Innocence

"The Age of Innocence" is full of gorgeous, passionate, orchestra music, graceful and uplifting. Utterly adorable and it is so sweet to dedicate it to Dawn, who works so tirelessly to encourage the artists on Jamendo.

I especially loved the strength of the piano in "What is Love" and the exquisite strings holding up the background. That tune had a nice calming effect with its melody. That jolly bass in "Bad Company" was so nicely upbeat and maintained such a great rhythm I could hardly type, my fingers wanted to dance so badly. "You make me smile" was another upbeat, outright happy tune. You can't listen to it and not smile!

Overall this album is full or exquisite compositions, worthy of public performance on a black tie evening. You have quite a gifted talent, Van Syla. Thank you for sharing.

Bruce tells a story of Symbiotes, merfolk, werewolves and other deeply mysterious things in his book, "La vie sous la mer," which is downloadable on his site here on Jamendo. It was a fantastic, torturous, poetic and quite convoluted tale and gave me chills as I read it while listening to his marvelous jazz/blues. He uses the voice of a story teller sitting at the fire side in a tavern somewhere, most likely by the sea side. These stories paint vivid imageries, and with plenty of footnotes his thoughts are made clear. Good read Bruce!

The music - Perfect, poetic, warm, and a delight of a listen. These tunes are highly involved with the book so it is especially nice to read and listen at the same time. I think I especially liked "The Illusion of Warmth" which had a very appealing nature. This artist is high on my star chart and I often like to spend a relaxing evening listening to his wonderful sounds from any of his consistently outstanding albums.

This album is so gorgeous! It is honey, a balm to the wounded soul. The male singer just melts your heart and you become one with the excellent melodies. The overall energy is laid back and relaxing. I don't remember how I found this album but I am so glad I did! Thank you JAFA for sharing your lovely creation.

Ah - this is so pretty - like a lazy Sunday afternoon with a storm raging outside your warm and cozy abode. This music is so moving, gentle, kind and quiet. It brings peace to the soul. Maybe the whole world should listen.

I liked that Spanish guitar in Quaesitorium and the whole energy of this piece. It had a momentum projecting through the instrumentals that is almost indescribable.
"Doesn't it matter" was so endearing it made me cry!? And don't make me talk about "Rodolfo's death" which is so heart rending and expressive with an excellent emoting power that the listener becomes engrossed completely. Powerful language in that song. The angelic piano solo in "Valentina's last day" is outstandingly performed.

Every song had an unique quality, telling its own story, yet completely surrendered to the basic temperament of the album. I had to add this one to my blog as a New Year's share - to sooth the savage beast in us all!

"Sheeps" - unbelievable! Rock with some depth, layers, interesting, overwhelming the senses. My feeling was of traveling through chaos and cartoon amusement. And then there were sheep.

"Crisis" - was a great dance tune in my opinion - as I type here my fingers pound with the bounding rhythm. This was awesome and technicolor in scope. Masses and masses of power in this one.

"Disorders" - more of a heavy metal beast - but with a nice rolling gait. A powerhouse with an exciting drum pounding you into submission and an overall electronic force.

"Control" - Teases the ears with its intro, advancing and retreating before bursting forth into flame and then burning down into embers with occasional flares of bright white fire.

"Try Again" - Unusual slow rhythm in this track, with the occasional voice or racket flinging itself into your ears, the music abusing you with its heavy sound, pulling you down. Not exactly a dark song but definitely not the light upper trip either.

"Orgasm" - Light thrilling, exotic music, gently tapping percussion involved with a weaving dance of colors and texture, muted voices, and then the violent percussion and screaming. It seems to me that the title of this song should have been in the plural.

"After the rain" - Light and pattery - silver light shines through this delicious little tune. Upbeat, exotic, and full of imagery.

I think you could hear just about every sound in existence on this album and maybe then some. Don't pay any attention to that silent staring stoney face - this is an EXCITING album!
Lots of new ideas and very interesting, captivating this old jaded brain with its unusual concepts. You should have seen me dancing around the house yelling, "Something new - finally!" This album is outrageous, stunning and you won't be able to stop listening to the poetry of this music.

Secret Space

This trance dance album was a rocket ship into space, full speed ahead, the beat progresses and the interesting sounds assault our senses.

These songs aren't made for beauty or expressing a poem. They are made to dance and if they can keep a tempo or rhythm they usually work out ok. This one is based on a theme which was also ok - but these space songs are stacking up all over the place. Isn't there anything new out there?

Show me something new and unusual which also fits the bill. Sorry to Synthesic for my little rant - I really did like this tune - it worked. I've just listened to so many space themed trance dance songs that I think I could build a bridge with them over the Pacific.

Overall this album is a good time with lovely music and sounds.

This track contained trance dance with a wild nature being quite definitely an experience. This lengthy tune was very commanding and somewhat psychotic in nature which is also quite alluring.

This marvelous album is a beautiful space rock opera put together with an interesting collaboration between several musicians. It was full of gorgeous warm vocals, the most outstanding guitars and powerful drums which gave it the strong edge of a great story to create an epic of an adventure.

The first track drags us into the drama with the powerful narrative elucidations of Oscar Brent. I loved the second track (The edge of dawn) which had some quiet, alluring, whispering from the narrator, and an ominous bell rings, the music was refining our expectations.

"Face a L'infortune" was abundant with the most gorgeous, crying guitar which put the tears in my heart. That one was so sumptuous with expression and so profoundly articulate I could feel it in my chest.

As we used to say in the U.S.A., "L'Apogee de La Fender," is" to die for." Who wouldn't want to show off that on-fire guitar? (Daniel Bautista, I need to hear more of you) This tune and the magic of this guitar is the highlight in the album for me.

"La Convoitise Dirige No Mains" was more spacey and dramatic - with tension, anxiety, something is going astray. There is lots of story to this one which involves the listener and heightens the interest as the story progresses toward it apex.

A New Star is Born - The instrumental intro music to this one was exquisite and that melting voice of the narrator is whispering, speaking, telling the tale: I wish I could understand but the listening to it was just as enjoyable, and with the guitar speaking volumes itself, as only PeerGynt can do. What an explosion that was, an expression of colors and sound, flashing light and power. Another favorite of mine.

Number seven is an expedition to the field of battle - every guy's joy - especially in an adventure such as this space odessey. I loved its beautiful intro which was operatic, spacey and relaxing. . A distinct sense of excitement grows - - and then to dive into that heavy liquid rocking guitar.

Number eight - the story of a duel in clashing and vague movements around a field and gaining in power and momentum. Wild and exciting, dynamic, advancing and retreating - sounds mostly done with percussion and a little guitar moaning, but the percussion stars here like a glorious electrifying blaze.

The ninth track speaks to me of a desolate landscape - a cold wind blows, a loneliness stands guard with a silence profound. The narrator continues the story with sadness in his voice. Sebast gives the echoing, guitar solo here - matchless and exquisite. This finale continues through the last track with a dramatic ending and more magnificent guitar.

Overall this album was one of my best listens in a while. I give it a ten because it was so well thought out and perfectly performed. It is quite a showcase for many of our popular guitar artists on Jamendo and should be a considered a collector's piece. Enjoy!

Beautiful love sonnets - to break or melt your heart. Outstanding plaints to share with the world - longings from the heart of peace, hope, joy, fear, sadness, loneliness. Longings of the heart. Poetry set to beautiful rock, jazz, guitar; music sung to us by a warm gentle male vocal, heartfelt and from the soul.

Longings of the heart - floating on a warm gentle sea, rocking us in the boat of hope with a moon overhead to guide us. This is one outstanding album (The Moon and the Other One) with a classy album cover and a purely delightful listen. So listen.

Wow - crash - bang - boom - OK - I just read the narrative that accompanies this exciting song. An alien's mis-adventure, disappointment and eventual accidental party.

No need to know the story to enjoy this fabulous rock tune. Headphones turned up high or speakers vibrating in the atmosphere.

Keep up this good stuff and thanks for sharing.
