I do listen to the guys other albums a lot, but have only had a quick listen to this. It is downloading now. I was too lazy to review the previous albums so I will review them all in one here. Not all, but always some, very good stuff on each album or EP. Track 2 here could be a remix of some of that earlier stuff. This seems to be an more electronic feel, the other albums were more Jazz and accompaniment.

I would suggest you get them all, give them a listen then compile a best of as there is some very good stuff tucked in alongside the less complete.

Good to see you back.

all nice but track 6 is magical!

this is one of the underwater worlds in mario world 64 -

well it's similar until the pipes come in - not my favourite SaReGaMa piece by any stretch of the imagination - too soundtracky.

still, not bad.

(apparently reviews without stars are wussie - so be it)

a bit MIDI - my wife says 'boring' but i wouldn't - it's just the MIDI-ness i dislike as it would be better with better sounds.

after a long time of playing SaReGaMa stuff, including Triplexity, I have to say that this album/compilation is my favourite.

Maybe i should give this 10/10? but 9 will do for now, i don't know why but maybe it is because i can say - "this sounds a bit like..." I don't know if that is a valid reason - One thing is that SaReGaMa does sound quite a bit like SaReGaMa which is good - so whilst having tinges of influence showing through there is also a SaReGaMa 'beat/rythm/thing' that tells you who you are listening to without consulting the playlist (i play all my stuff on random most of the time so like artists who i can recognise by sound) - anyway, erm that is why i gave it 9/10 - seems to me i should give it 10 erm.... nah, i'm sure better is yet to come, so... 9/10 it is...

As for the music, this is just a good collection of SRGM stuff and sits more to the 'cool' than some of the SRGM stuff that i, for now, can't pidgin hole... but the song that goes "....smile" half way through it which makes me wince slightly on hearing it - so anyway this album/compilation doesn't have any wince moments its all good.

(There is something on here that sounds mysteriously like the latest Triplexity single.)

worth the download for track 2 alone which is lovely.

again he does it, and again i will write a review that doesn't make much sense. You have to listen. Get his other album too.

It's the quality and selection of sounds - this album has less of the tweaked beats, although they are present, and leaves you more with the nice noises. even slightly dark at times, but only briefly.

so far I like this album less, but still a lot, and it may grow on me - get both the albums and enjoy this unique and professional experience.

Personal data

New

"Live in Ireland"

a live set I played in 2007

best downtempo track

"acidphon"

ambient/downtempo

but really Phon is about experimental beats and arrangements }:-]|

"Clatterbang" & "bSides"

techno/electronica/idm Earliest work and probably most "finished"

(track one of bSides is poorly produced)

"contains traces of nuts"

my current favourite work - though rough around the edges

"remixes the beatles"

a recent attempt with some interesting ideas

"peaceful sinerave"

a recent ambient attempt - not up to standard with the old work

The best stuff is my early stuff "clatterbang" and "acidphon"

enjoy
