With shades of Genesis and Queen, this is an unusual but very well written and performed project. All of the songs are upbeat and not overbearing, but rock just the same!
A great addition to any collection!
A rare album.
The sound is honest, broad, and varied, with the common theme of Andre's homespun voice that is neither overbearing nor underwhelming, but just the right amount of authenticity and approachability that give credence to the works. Accomplished musicality and phrasing gives a life to each composition that others would make automatic and predictable.
The real star of the album, however, is the writing. The lyrics are at once strong, poignant, honest, raw, and simple.
Each song is crafted as a narrative that addresses the common imperfections and foibles that makes us human beings. One finds someone that they now in each composition, possibly even themselves.
"Here's To You" and "If These Walls Could Talk" exhibit such poignancy and honesty, one can only stop and listen, if only to completely absorb the message of the lyrics, and Miss Duren's contribution fits perfectly as a duet expressing the genuine sympathy of those who have tried and failed.
That I found this here for free is steal of grand larcenous proportions, and I hope to hear more of such compositions soon!
True Craftsmanship.
There are surprises like this jewel!
The music is pure and raw. No, its not produced in a major studio, but that doesn't matter. Simple yet heartfelt music makes this great to listen to at work, on headphones while going to bed (yes, I can't sleep without music either), or just to chill with.
Great harmonies, catchy hooks, and broad licks makes this album a great find! Downloaded and added to the mp3 player already. Great Job guys! (and gal)
Its been a long time since I've heard a good garage punk band, especially with the new wave voicing.
This album totally rocks from the beginning, and "Again" is a skater punk's dream!
Very much worth the download!
Is it Punk? Blues? Yes and yes.
This album has a great, old-fashioned" "dirty" sound with punk overtones, as if The Sex Pistols got together with the Black Crowes or The Georgia Satellites.
Its a Bar Band deluxe album which is perfect for work, housework, or just chillin with a cold one.
I gave a '9' due to only 6 songs:)
Great Album! Its very much worth the download!
Easy to get lost in. Most relaxing and enjoyable. I especially love the different textures and the country/blues riffs.
Well produced, great throw back to progs of the 80's such as Fates Warning and the harder stuff lie Laaz Rockit. I eagerly await more material:)
One of the hidden gems of Jamendo!
Great production and talent! Tongue in cheek humor, totally rocks! Already downloaded!
