Everybody wants to have a good life sounds like something that could have been recorded by a partnership of Pulp and Rialto if they didn´t have enough budget to hire Anne Dudley for the orchestral arrangements. Truly, I don´t know why did I get that feeling, but it definitely reminded me of those great bands of the nineties, yet thinking that the mellow tone would play superb (and I mean VERY SUPERB) with a slight orchestral arrangement. It also reminded me a bit of the swedish band The Soundtrack of Our Lives, and since those three groups are among my favourites, I suppose it makes this review very positive. Good stuff! I wait for more to come...

I must admit that the whole music style of this album is not my preferred, but I starred it and will listen over and over, because it has two super powerful tracks (Paris La mort and Les amants de cristal) that I absolutely love. They penetrate deep inside your mind. If for me, not liking this style it's so strong, I can imagine how wonderful this experience must be for someone who is a bit more into this thing of melancholic electronic music.

Don't miss this one if you are fan of french chanson in the best style of bands like Tetes Raides! Fun, light, charming.... you will be tapping your feet against the floor before you notice!! It would be wonderful to be able to see them live.

SaReGaMa - Instrumental Works

Instrumental Works

It seems that SaReGaMa has been quite a good discovery tonight. After being delighted with the Metallophone solos, I decided to give a try to Instrumental Works, to find an album that gave me the feeling that I was not getting for a long time, the feeling of "music-that-makes-mind-travel". Right now I am listening again, sitting and doing nothing (but writing). If I close the eyes, the music can help me to abstract myself from where am I and what am I doing. I specially got that feeling with Fly Agaric Trance. After listening to this album, I feel like dig in my drawer and find my Jews Harp! Pity that I cannot play it nicely.

Ok, I am a bit biased, since I have always loved Metallophone as instrument, so naturally, to find a metallophone solos album is quite an awesome thing, but in this case is even better because of the grace of the performance and the beauty of the melodies. The album is short, which is the perfect thing, since you finish it longing for more, without trace of that very remote feeling of tireness that you might get after listening an endless 70 minutes album of some solo instrument. Beautiful, brief, concise, to the point... and as an extra addition, if you happen to have a baby at home, it makes an incredibly good sleeping music (no pun intended, honest! :-)

Personal data

"The Realm of Beauty" is not my first work, but it is my first "quite serious" work. It is the soundtrack for an humorous fairy tale I wrote some years ago. Soon I plan to keep working on the music to bring you more engaging melodies.
