..so, what'd just happen?
"How to make the worst song ever" is actually the most bareable for me. It's really hard to review this kind of music as it's meant to be kinda like terrible. So, Why would anyone listen to this, except for when you are in a wild search for novelty, I don't know... but, I'd say, tinkering with things on this territory could lead to something weird and enjoyable, just like a frog would turn into, I don't know, a non-conformist prince ?
For now, I can only really apreciate having found a sense of consistency somewhere between the tracks, and even the cover, as well as some hopes as described above in the long run.
But right now, this just doesn't cut it for me.
Music from another galaxy, presenting an interesting combination between a march and a silently sung song, a powerful promising background overlapped from time to time by a shy voice.
The song doesn't quite seem to have a message, syntax or story. If anything, there's a line of short messages that don't lead anywhere. The sounds themselves are so unusual that it makes me swing back and forth between labeling this as professional and clean, and unprofessional, as in false and missshapen... I'd say, it's neither of the above after all, yes, neither, how can this be ? You need to listen to it in order to get this, I'm afraid.
I'd like to thank Jamendo for refreshing-away my review in the middle of a phone call that forced me to take a break.
I'll leave the rating to others, and I'll just say welcome to Jamendo.
This track presents to me a self-contradicting story I seem to fail to comprehend. I almost feel like I'm listening to two perfectly overlapping songs at the same time. I hear a bird trying to, but never taking off... I hear a story, but I hear no ending of it either. I hear someone shouting "Start", but everything remains in place... I don't quite get what's going on...
Because it sounds to me that this is more of a soundtrack than "music", I'm afraid I'm unable to appreciate this at it's true value at the moment, but there's a certain beauty and elegance and actual talent and/or work present it this single that just wouldn't let me leave this uncommented.
I'd rate it high for the professional execution, I'd take from that because of it's incoherent message. The cover deserves something cleaner too. A 7 on my scale, yet I can't do that to this album...
Thank you ! Wish there was more !
I'm a victim of the good mood present of this album. I'm a victim of the lyrics as well, deeply. This is worth listening to over and over again. Great voice, refreshing sounds !
Now on the down side: I feel some seconds fail to live up to the high standard set up by the rest of the album. I just might also... whish they pulled instruments together a tiny tad differently, or that the equalizer was set up differently. But don't expect this to sound unprofessional at all, quite the opposite.
Oh and one more thing, if there's such a thing as Christian raggea this one's it. Despite what some'd expect, the lyrics are actually good, I'd underline.
Wish there was more ! Thank you !
I was lured here by the album cover, showing a sweet organic beautiful instrument, but what I got when I took a peek inside was squeeching, noizy machine sounds - sounds that here and there give you the impression of music, making things bearable but dissapoint shortly.
I don't know what software was involved here, but I'd say get rid of it and try something else, or try cooperating with someone who plays a violin. Whatever you tried to come up with here, deserves more.
It really captivated me in the begging, and that portion deserves a 10. I feel the honking is a little overdone, and the part after minute seven is a different track that ended up in the same file, which in turn, again, has a sweet part of it's own.
I really enjoyed the different sounds here and there as well, loved the coins and the chopper.
So, while this artist proved himself to be talented, I find the track inconsistent and too long, and as I said, I find it to be two - but this might be a feature and not a bug !
Flawless execution, unusual message - which fails to capture attention here and there though. All in all, wish there will be more ! Thank you !
My quest has come to an end. I've been cutting through a jungle of vegetation (bad albums), then I stumbled upon this flower.
Considerate and pretty. Fine lines drawn with two colors: the ones of hope and hopelessness... you can hear her head on, take step after step, step for step, step by step, from time to time stop, look around - not to hesitate, just to recalibrate and head sharply and securely towards her destination. But, she doesn't arive there to take a break :) Her satisfaction is in the walk itself. Either all of the above, or I'm in too much of a good mood. But even if I am, this albums plays a role in that !
Either way, very well executed, the instruments and voice are perfect: what's executed - I've already tried to explain above, and I'm more than pleased with it.
I wish there was more. Thank you !
While listening I couldn't help noticing the cheerfulness or positiveness in this track. It kinda smells of victory and success. So, I'm pleased with the message and melodicity. I'd even say, the album art matches the music incredibly well - the noisy sunshine is present in the sounds. Upon further consideration though, there's a tad too much noise (or if that's a feature it needs to be fine tuned), some beats sound too artificial and I ended up whishing the song would take a different turn, to see a race straigh to a podium, or someplace different then it went, because it's just taking the same two turns over and over, turning and turning and going in circles. Despite all this, I wish this album wasn't one song only.
Dynamic and sweet, perhaps that's what funky is. I like the message, I just feel something's missing. I love it when new instruments surprize us for a a glimps out of nowhere. More please.
