This is great groovy alt-pop. Think a bit of Beatles, a bit of the Gin Blossoms. One problem -- the vocals are frequently just a bit off key. With some vocal training, or a few more takes, this could be a great band -- even including the silly section with the bouncing ping-pong ball.
I like the guitars and the overall mix. Basically I like everything except for the singing. The melodies are primarily monotone (monotonous!) and the performance is listless and uninspired, in contrast to the high energy of the guitars and drums.
The idea of an electro and celtic melange is an interesting one, but ultimately, this album feels like techno music with a sampled "Celtic" instrument playing on top of it. I would be more interested in a true melange, with a better blend of acoustic and electronic, and with celtic influence on more than just the occasional melody.
This is usually pleasant, and often interesting, but ultimately it is rather forgettable.
I especially liked the energy in track #2.
But not as interesting as I had hoped. Some track breaks would be nice.
This is good background music -- consistently listenable. Layers and themes evolve without being jarring or disjointed. Well done!
The instruments are often poorly played, and the tracks are oddly disparate, like they come from completely different projects.
This is pleasant, clever and heartfelt music. Think Tuesday afternoon in the park in May.
This is difficult to listen to. It is dark, harsh and noisy. I suppose that could be the musicians' intent, but it doesn't always make for a pleasant listening experience.
