This is quite experimental and nonstandard. It uses primarily percussion, synths and stringed instruments to create interesting atonal soundscapes.
The first track is fantastic, and everything else is pretty good too. The compositions, instruments, and production values are all excellent. But the vocals on the first track make the rest of the album a bit of a disappointment by comparison. I understand wanting to lead with your best material, but it might have been better as a "bonus" later on, rather than setting expectations so high so early. Either way, it's all quite listenable.
It's not awful, but the sounds are all very lo-fi, and not always in a good way. It has its own interesting sound, but not enough to hold my interest.
This album succeeds in being interesting while still being excellent ambient/background music. The themes develop nicely, and there are interesting rhythms, melodies and sonic choices.
I particularly like tracks 1, 2, and 15.
The recording has an excellent sound, and the instruments are well-played. If you are in the mood for some French metal, this is the album for you. The four tracks are fairly similar, but have enough variety to keep you interested.
The first song has an epic introduction that promises a bit more scope and variety than you find in the album, but perhaps that is to come in an extended release...
This is perfect music to put on when you have chores to do! It's happy and upbeat and engergetic the whole way through.
I would call it random soundscapes, perhaps tracks such as #3 are free jazz... very free.
There are voices, tortured stringed instruments (cello? upright bass? piano?), sound effects and all sorts of acoustical and effect-manipulated weirdness.
I think I liked it.
Let me start by saying that all tracks on this album are quite listenable. Every track is professionally created.
But the absence of melody and thematic material doesn't make something experimental. These sounds are fairly traditional where electronic music is concerned. I would have liked to either hear something a bit more out on a tangent, or more interesting development of thematic ideas and/or melody.
It's rhythmic but not particularly harmonic or melodic, so although you could dance to it, I wouldn't really call it music. But it's perfectly harmless, and occasionally interesting.
