ANTARCTICA
Antarctica was my second album released as Cold Sun, back in July 2003. The album focuses moreso on the sights of Antarctica rather then the barren, inhospitable climate.
Mount Erebus is about the mountain itself, located on the Antarctic continent. As a bit of trivia, the track was actually an out-take from my first album, 6am, but fit in better on this album. The title track is a dense, barren soundscape that depicts the landscape of Antarctica. Wide open, nothing but snow, windswept and inhospitable.
The album was originally released in July 2003.

I think I already heard something like Mount Erebus.....back in eighties.
Antarctica was lovely but even so - it doesn't have to be that long - it's weary.
However - great illustration of Antarctic landscapes.
Well, I've downloaded the lot and am listening to them all whenever I can. After reading the glowing reviews of the album, I made sure I listened to this one next!
Like "Skylight", "Antarctica" is a perfect soundscape: invoking the imagination yet still making good listening. While listening to the title track, you get the sense of wide open spaces, virgin snow and icy cold winds that could potentially kill anyone without the obligatory parka :)
As one reviewer has already said, you really do have to listen to it to appreciate it, and it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks it's a stimulating and imaginitive piece of music. Bravo!
Un bon album assez descriptif, à l'ambiance un peu froide, normal vu le concept. Le deuxième morceau"Antartica" est particulièrement réussi parce qu'on y voit bien ses longues étendues glacées.
Different people, different feelings, different perspective. Have to admit I actually do not feel "Antarctica" in these songs at all, but rather a warm nothing, everything feeling when one step into the natural flow from these discordant systems.
Steve Roach influence can be felt also.
Keep on superb work!
..ich mochte schon in den Siebzigern/Achtzigern den Synthisound von Tangerine Dream, Schulze, Kraftwerk, Möbius u.a.
great sounds, well composed and just wonderful to listen to and enjoy.
I love the music of Steve Roach and this is equally as good. "Mount Erebus" features a sequence driven ambience found on Roach's "Structures from Silence" while the title track drones, ebbs and flows like his 90's/00's material. It's really good to hear some proper ambient soundscapes that don't try and be experimental and weird.
