Project Retouch is a two-man project from Helsinki, Finland, consisting of Mikko Meriläinen (lead vocals, lyrics, composition) and Matti Paalanen (synth, guitar, composition, backing vocals).

Formed in the fall of 2006 the idea of the project was initially to create remakes of various classic tunes with a distinct and personal style. However, Project Retouch quickly started producing original material as well and has now evolved into an experimental musical adventure, leaving no genre untouched in the unending search for the perfect sound. The music has evolved into a distinct style with the songs combining multilayered synth sounds with live instruments and poetic lyrics often dealing with themes of love, loneliness and the full range of human emotions.

The band has drawn inspiration from countless sources, including (but not limited to) Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Vangelis, Kings of Convenience and Depeche Mode, with the occasional song intentionally paying homage stylewise to one of its creators' idols.
