[ITA] La Guerra Delle Formiche è un progetto indie rock nato a metà tra la one-man-band ed il gruppo. Imperniato sul lavoro del viterbese musicista/compositore Carlo Sanetti, non presenta fino ad ora un organico fisso ed è aperto alla collaborazione su più livelli. Allo stato attuale, sotto questo nome è uscito nel 2006 un omonimo EP ("La guerra delle Formiche") contenente otto composizioni, in lingua italiana, che richiamano nelle sonorità e nelle atmosfere il prog italiano dei '70, il chitarrismo di band come Marlene Kuntz e CSI e certo post-rock alla Mogwai. Realizzato completamente in termini DIY (si tratta di puro home recording), "La Guerra delle Formiche" può essere scaricato gratuitamente per intero (testi ed artwork compresi). Nell'EP, hanno partecipato come musicisti Massimiliano Lorenzoni (batteria), Matteo Maienza (pianoforte) e Maria Livia Nicotra (voci). L'evoluzione del progetto prosegue sulla linea del DIY solista/ad organico aperto sperimentando soluzioni artistiche decisamente eclettiche, di ispirazione perlopiù elettroniche/prog/post-rock/post-punk. Un nuovo lavoro è previsto per il 2008, di cui anticipazioni in fieri possono essere ascoltate per ora sulla pagina MySpace (www.myspace.com/laguerradelleformiche).

[ENG ]La Guerra Delle Formiche (The War Of the Ants) is an italian indie rock project born as half a one-man-band, half a group. Based on the work of the musician/composer Carlo Sanetti, the project has not a stable line-up and is open to cooperation at any level. At the present time, a namesake EP ("La Guerra delle Formiche") has been released in December 2006, which features 8 songs (in italian language and poetic attitude) resembling 70's italian prog, the guitar style of indie rock bands such Marlene Kuntz, Blonde Redhead and Ulan Bator and Mogwai-like post rock. Completely a DIY production (pure home recording), "La Guerra delle Formiche" is available in free download (including artwork and lyrics) at www.laguerradelleformiche.com . The EP features the cooperation of Massimiliano Lorenzoni (drums), Matteo Maienza (piano) and Maria Livia Nicotra (vocals). The project is going on in the direction of DIY production and singer-songwriter/open collective style with many influences, from neoprog/post rock to electronica/post punk. A new record in two version (italian and english language) is expected for 2008. New things can be listened to on MySpace (www.myspace.com/laguerradelleformiche).
