David Holmes

David Holmes is a digital curator and content creator focusing on Internet Music, Open Content and Social Media.

David is a former sound engineer and indie studio manager based in the UK. He is passionate about using Internet technologies to empower musicians, and is a strong advocate of Free Culture and Open Music.

David is a founding curator of the Open Media Directory, a clearinghouse for sources of legal, podsafe audio and video at Ourmedia.org. People can use the list of resources to find or share content for their media projects, podcasts, videoblogs, websites, etc. The list is published under a Creative Commons license.

He is also the creator of Open Music Search: A Google custom search engine indexing dozens of copyleft music resources. Designed for finding reusable media, collaborative projects and free music tools. The search box can be embedded on web pages and added directly to blogs at Blogger.com by searching for the gadget name from the page layout editor.

His Soundblog can be found at Dave's Imaginary Sound Space, a micro-portal for sound related news and information. DISS has twice been listed on Microsoft's Best of Windows Live Spaces website. Visit Dave's Imaginary Sound Store for recommended music and sound products.
