A real fine album, with that nice laidback 80s vibe. (the good side of the 80s that is.) Makes you wanna relax at a sunny beach sippin on some fancy cocktail.
Props for the bass playing, very nice tone and solos.
But why oh why is there a drum machine instead of a real drummer ?... This would have been the bomb with a real drummer.
Nevertheless, this albums is really worth the listenin' for that instant summertime feel !
Cartel strikes again ! This album is definately up there with the greatest underground sounds. I ain't gonna detail every track, because everything is top notch, from lyrics (full of tasty references) to fat beats or high quality production. And what's more, it's definately a step up from the already amazing first album.
'Nuff respect !
Basically, this is band in a box MIDI files with sloppy Yngwie Malmsteen licks on top.
There's no feel, no interaction (of course, playing on midi sequences...) no jazz at all in this.
Sorry for being so harsh, but then again if you can't take some criticism...
Awesome music, superb beat, superb flows...
I loved Whoa Whoa. Thats a hit right there.
And You Know My Style is TUFF. I could go on and on !
Can't won't don't stop !!
10/10 ! This is really Jazz-Funk at its best. Makes me think of those classic mid to late 70s recordings...
Great production, I love the ambiance, but maybe it sounds a lil bit too much like something Gainsbourg would have done. But worth a couple of listens overall !
