Jeśli ktoś lubi eksperymentalny rodzaj jazzu, jak free jazz albo jass, to jest to strzał w dziesiątkę. Zespół nie interesuje się specjalnie melodią, redukuje ją do rytmu, i na tak oczyszczonej bazie udatnie bawi się dźwiękiem i brzmieniem. Zamiast klimatu mamy więc intrygujące łamigłówki dźwiękowe.
Ale nawet jeśli się nie lubi takiej muzyki, to i tak trzeba docenić jej jakość...

If you like experimental kind of jazz, like free jazz or jass, than you hit the jackpot. The band doesn't pay too much attention to the melody, they strip it down to the rhythm, and on such a clean base cleverly plays with the sounds. Instead of atmosphere we get intriguing sound charades.
But even if you don't like such a music, you still have to admit it's damn good...
Ten album prezentuje bardzo ładną muzykę w stylu "ethno", czyli taką, która umiejętnie nawiązuje do muzyki ludowej, ale jej nie naśladuje do końca. Jest spokojna i delikatna. Słychać w niej lekkie jazzowe elementy. Niestety, to właśnie saksofon nie do końca pasuje do reszty instrumentów i burzy cudowne wrażenie (utwory 4, 5 i 7). Niemniej to tylko nieco obniża ocenę, ale i tak ogólny poziom tej muzyki jest bardzo wysoki.

This album presents very nice music of "ethno" kind, which means that it is cleverly inspired by ethnic sounds, but doesn't just copy it. It's peaceful and delicate. You can also hear some jazz in it. But it's the saxophone which doesn't really belong to the rest and breaks this wonderful experience (tracks 4, 5 and 7). Nevertheless, it only slightly lowers the score, but the overall quality of the music is very high.
To jedna z nielicznych rekomendacji, która mi się spodobała. Xihilisk twierdzi, że jego muzyka nie przypomina niczego innego i faktycznie jest to bardzo oryginalny klimat.
Utwory z tego albumu bazują na delikatnym akustycznym brzmieniu, które wywołuje pozytywne wibracje, ale dodatkowo zostały poszerzone o efekty elektroniczne. Ładna muzyka zamiast jednak zostać przytłoczona syntetycznymi dźwiękami, zyskuje dodatkowy wymiar wyobraźni.
Polecam miłośnikom klimatów Bjork oraz jamendowym fanom SaReGaMa.

This is one of the few recommendations I liked. Xihilisk claims that his music is not alike anything else and he's right, that's a very original take.
Tracks from this album are built on delicate acoustic sound, which brings good vibrations, but have been enhanced by electronic effects. This nice music is not overwhelmed by synthetic sounds though, instead it gets additional imaginative dimension.
I recommend this album to all who likes atmosphere like in Bjork tunes and to the fans of SaReGaMa here at jamendo.
To nagranie traktuję jako zwiastun przyszłej współpracy. =} I jako zwiastun wygląda bardzo ciekawie. Mnie najbardziej podoba się tu połączenie folku Wschodu i Zachodu oraz zmiana linii melodii. A poza tym w ogóle miło słyszeć 3 zdolnych artystów grających razem!

I treat this recording as a pilot for the future collaboration. =} And as such it seems very interesting. Things I like here the most is joining East and West folk and changing the line of the melody. And beside that, it's generally nice to hear 3 gifted artists playing together!
Nie wiem, dlaczego ten zespół zdecydował się nagrać album z piosenkami. Wokal jest niestety słaby, a w dodatku przysłania to całkiem ładną muzykę. Wersja instrumentalna miałaby u mnie około 7/10...

I don't know why this team decided to record the album with songs. Vocal is sadly weak and it also eclipses pretty nice music. Instrumental version would gain 7/10 from me...
Ten album Sajtrusa niestety nie przypadł mi do gustu. Zabrakło dynamiki oraz fantastycznej różnorodności z "Birthday" i w efekcie ta muzyka stała się dla mnie zbyt monotonna. To jeszcze nie jest nuda, ale blisko.
Na plus wyróżnia się za to bardzo ładny utworek "Music Story", gdzie melancholijna gitara pięknie współgra z rozmarzonym głosem i ciekawym, poetyckim tekstem Avell. W tej piosence przypomina mi ona trochę Björk, a trochę naszą baśniową Marię Peszek oraz zmysłową Patrycję Hefczyńską (wokalistkę duetu "Husky"), ale z mojej strony to nie jest zarzut. Dla mnie to tylko kolejny dobry przykład tego wirtualnego "gatunku" muzyki.

This album of Sajtrus didn't pleased me. It lacks the dynamics and fantastic diversity of "Birthday", so this music seems too monotonous to me. It's not exactly boring, but it's close.
On the bright side we have a very nice track "Music Story", where the melancholic guitar makes beautiful partnership with languid voice and interesting, poetic lyrics of Avell. In this song she reminds me Björk a little, but also two polish singers: fairy Maria Peszek and sensual Patrycja Hefczynska (vocal in "Husky" duet). It's not an accusation though, I just see it as another good example of this virtual musical "genre".
To niezła muzyka i to w gatunku, który mi się podoba, ale w miarę słuchania powoli mój entuzjazm stygł. Po pierwsze szkoda, że jakość techniczna nie jest lepsza, naprawdę mi to przeszkadza. Zabrakło mi też wyraźnych perełek: prawie nic z tego albumu się mocno nie wyróżnia, może poza "Tango Go" i "5 Rue Des Belles Filles" (punkt za oryginalność). Żałuje też, że nie ma tu więcej melodii, na których można zawiesić ucho.
Liczyłem na wszystko co najlepsze, dlatego czuję taki niedosyt. Sama muzyka jednak jest bardzo przyjemna i ładnie zagrana. Na pewno nie raz jej sobie posłucham.

It's quite good music and the genre appeals to me very much, but my enthusiasm was slowly getting colder while listening. First thing, it's a pity the technical quality of the recording is not better, it really disturbs me. I also lack clear pearls here: almost nothing from this album distinguishes enough, maybe except "Tango Go" and "5 Rue Des Belles Filles" (point for the originality). I miss more of the melodies, which you could easy recognize, too.
I hoped for all the best, that's why I feel that insufficiency. Nevertheless the music in itself is lovely and nice performed. I will listen to it many times for sure.
Jedyne pytanie przed wysłuchaniem tego albumu brzmi: "czy lubisz jazz?" Jeśli tak, to dalsze są już zbędne. Cały ten długi (prawie 3-godzinny!) koncert, nagrany 7 marca 1993 w nowojorskim "55 Bar", jest wypełniony mocną esencją jazzu, i to bez domieszek. Klubowa atmosfera stanowi doskonałe uzupełnienie finezyjnej i doszlifowanej gry zespołu. Da się z niej wyłowić naturalne w takich miejscach odgłosy publiczności i to trochę ożywia ten doskonale wykonany materiał. Łatwo sobie wyobrazić, że się tam jest.
Wielkie dzięki za umieszczenie tego nagrania w jamendo! To wysoka poprzeczka, do której mogą się odnosić inni artyści publikujący tu pod etykietą "jazz".

The only question one should ask before listening to the album is: "do you like jazz?" If so, the next ones are needless. All this long (almost 3 hours!) live performance, recorded 7th march 1993 in "55 Bar" (New York), is filled with a strong essence of jazz, with no additions. The atmosphere of the club is a great supplement to the subtle and precise band performance. You can hear natural to such places sounds of the audience, and it gives some more life to this great performed music. It's easy to imagine you are there.
Big thanks for exposing this recording on jamendo! This makes a high bar, which can be referenced by other artists publishing here their music with "jazz" label.
Chociaż nie jest to mój ulubiony gatunek muzyki, to trzeba przyznać, że wykonawcom nie brakuje muzycznego warsztatu. W kategorii profesjonalizmu nadają się do normalnych stacji radiowych. Ulubiony utwór z płyty: instrumentalny "Endless" (bo przynależy raczej do nurtu progresywnego niż popu), najsłabszy jest "Life Gambling" (nudny), reszta na równym, dobrym poziomie.

Although this is not my favorite genre of music, I must admit that performers don't lack anything of musical skills. As for their professionalism, they could be aired by the normal radio stations. Favorite track: instrumental "Endless" (because it's rather progressive than pop), the weakest is "Life Gambling" (boring), the rest keeps the steady, good level.
Trudno oceniać łącznie taki zbiór różnorodnych utworów, więc spróbuję je posortować.

Fonky S i The Forest Spirit są dobre, a reszta też jest co najmniej niezła... Czuć rękę muzyka, który wyrobił swój własny styl, niezależny od gatunków które używa.

and particularly Fragments in improved - comparing to "Bodhi Tree" - version (thanx a lot, Sa! =}). It's again my most favorite track from the album.
Fonky S and The Forest Spirit are good, and the rest is not bad at least... One feels a touch of the musician who has worked out his own style, not dependant on the genres he uses.
