This album is rather catchy. It reminds me of Ghislain Poirier and Sage Francis at times. I will always remember it as the album I listened to while applying for a CopyCamp (copycamp.ca) subsidy. I look forward to checking out the alterlabel. I hope you folk will consider releasing your tracks in ogg format as well as mp3 (better quality, open standard/format). A reminder: by putting a No Derivatives condition on your music, you prevent DJs and podcasters from mixing your songs under Creative Commons license (and they're the ones who will help you promote your label).

This is the first good psy-trance album I've discovered under Creative Commons. I've been wanting to turn my psytrance-producing/DJing friends onto the Commons for a while now, but just never had an example for them, so now I'm giving away copies to them in hopes that they will publish Freely too. Great work, hope to see some more.

The first song is so minimal, it's just begging to be remixed. The second song is a little fuller, but I still feel it's incomplete in a way. The rest of the hip-hop and electro tracks stand alone well. Nice transitions from hip-hop to electro, I'm not sure where the line between 1st and 2nd part is to be drawn. Contains some of my favorite dub in CC. The first DNB track is nice, but it doesn't make me want to dance. The second DNB teases me with dancability only to interrupt, later delivers a weak dose of movability, but the beat itself doesn't go very far and drops with no warning. The next two DNB tracks are a little more rousing. In summary, solid but not quite mind-blowing. Keep at it !

I'm not one who tends to listen to "popish" music a lot, so my appreciation of this album is a pretty good compliment. I particularly like the voice raised against unjust things done in our name in the first song. I think that as Creative Commons builds solidarity with other struggles, we will see an increasing number of politically critical media in the community.

Folk, hip-hop, rock, punk, reggae, trancey electronic, celtic ambience: this comp covers a lot of ground. I'd hesitate to say I could hand it to anyone and have them like at least one song; it's close, but it leans towards rock/folk/pop fans more than anything. All-in-all a great sampler of Creative Commons music.
