Big start, nature with a huge, sinister overtone that turns into a swirling morass of sounds, your teeth are chattering in the sub-zero winds, and then it seems as if you are descending into some hellish mine, that comes to a crunching halt. Then, the horrible beauty of the subterranean opens up before you, gloriously. Then technology starts stamping its indelible stain on the green of the world, nice echoing rhythm with slow snare/bass, overlain with squiggles of noise and various little melodies. Then it changes into a lovely fusion of notes and harmonies, to a pause filled with voices. An interlude almost. Elucidation perhaps (I'm guessing the title translation). An interesting track, ending with a passionate flourish of piano and one last blast. M7B5 has a lovely feel to it immediately, and then strongly asserts itself, with some very suitable voice samples, almost breaking into the reggae genre!-) But then there was a bit of a hoe-down about half way through, which ends up with piano re-establishing the voice and percussion, bringing it back into a monster ending. Nice track! Dream Dub is full of lovely sounds with the solidity of dubness. I love dub!-) LKJ a particular favourite. Anyway, Bad Iso, has a beautiful start, quite powerful, a bit more serious. If we are talking nuclear physics, are there any good ones. Percussion, guitar and keyboard with voice samples roll along into a cleanly structured piece of music. Nice little experiment that worked well. Diverse and well-cut. Histoire de... brings a darker pitch in, almost ambient to start that develops into an indie beat I've not heard for a while. Then back to a firework display of electronics, filled with that trusty beat and bass. Then, as if it was perfectly acceptable, you're in the middle of some solid rock sound. Seuil de Disto, sounds underground for sure to begin with. Bass led it picks itself up and builds to a quick flurry, into the mixing accompaniment. A breath, a pause then back to rock with voices too, pretty full on metal jacket stuff. Then back to some more scratching and trundling along, before the jacket's put back on. Fragment is easy beat with voice samples. This is an interesting and well-accomplished fusion of music from a diverse set of influences, and it strangely makes a really good album, against all expectations.
Some Trip Hop nonsense with offbeat drum loops, unfitting samples and random SFX. Maybe there were interesting ideas here and there but the technical side is very insufficient.
Interlude x22 sounds like it uses many of the sounds and soundscapes from Half Life2...
A écouter d'urgence.
