Description

This is what we call War Metal, a crossover of black metal aesthetic and industrial heavy rythmic section. Songs are short outburst of melodic violence combined with a heavy artillery overall atmosphere.

This album is a cold and sinister representation of war and darkest human nature. It describes the grim side of World War II, neither approving or condemning anything.

This is NOT neo-nazi propaganda  and NOT and anti-nazi stance.

Enjoy it or hate it for what it is.

What a raw and hateful EP! Despite some flaws, this minimalistic piece of raw black metal works. The ambience is the key here.

The intro is a powerful and menacing preludium to the razor sharp title track. It is sinister and as an ambient track, it is perfect.

Follows the title track. Here the sharp guitars enter the scene, and are quite weirdly produced. But it works. The sound is metallic, with a '70s fuzz used instead of oversaturated distortion. The result is an eerie athmosphere and the opening appegios, played in a black metal fashion are quite interesting. The main riff is a classic black metal one, effiecient but in no way original. The bombastic drum machine, especially in the mid 2/4 break gives the impression of a panzerdivision crushing everything in sight.

The second song seems to be a rehash of the first song. Not bad, but it's seems to be a collection of the riffs that were discarded from the first song. In fact the song should have been discarded form the EP. It is obviously there to fill a hole.

The last song, before the outro is called Blitzkrieg and is a mind boggling aural attack. The same fuzzy multi-layered guitars technique is used, like in the first song, but all black metal orthodoxy is ripped and torn. Strange breaks in the song and major (almost happy sounding) chord progressions are included throughout the song, and once again it works.

The piano outro is amazing. It brings in mind desolation of a battlefield aftermath. It's melancholic and sad, and contrasts with the rawness of the previous tracks.

The voice is raw and have this 'outside of music' feeling that you love or hate, guitars are saw like sounding... a really decent black metal piece of work.

Repetiveness is sometimes annoying, and the absence of a bass guitar is a major void. It would have completed the songs, and with a good bass track, those songs had sounded huge. There is something missing in the sound, and after a few listening it became evident it was a good bass guitar track. Drum machine is a good idea, and of course add to the coldness of this EP. It could have been done better, with a better use of tom rolls. It's maybe a little bit too square.

Overall, this is a great EP, innovative in a certain way. It could have been better, but it reach the goal of giving you an enjoying blast of melodic violence, to quote the band own description of their music.
