The title track is one of those Tom Fahy piano pieces which makes you wonder whether you've ever heard anything so beautiful, at least since last listening to Hinterlands or Winterland. Elsewhere there is outstanding saxophone work on House of Aoife and some terrific guitar by Emer Mulholland on Emer's Promise, Oyster Manor Blues and Chesed. Try it, and I respectfully suggest that you don't give up if nothing happens first time around. 'A Room Full of Guys' is similar (no Fahy album is quite like another) and just as good.

smooth grooves

I normally prefer a bit more of a laidback, dark and dirty style of jazz but as I've previously enjoyed (and reviewed) albums by this artist I gave this one a whirl.

Much more of the "summer evening" type of jazz, smooth grooves, variety and an all round enjoyable listening experience. Guitar led, piano led then sax led with even a bit of solo piano that is the more downtempo non-jazz title piece thrown in for good measure.

Well worth a listen, go on, give it a go!
