Memorial guitar based, mellow with a nice little melodiousness to it. Strange But Right is heavier on the guitar riff now and into a somewhat dull track underneath, but if you concentrate on the higher layers it sounds better. Envie de Neant back to rough mellow guitar work, builds up classically backed but still a bit mediocre. Insomnia starts off beautifully, a lovely piano and string combination and it manages to muster a sense of the dramatic. Defeat You back to the heavy guitar, this sounds a bit tighter and more meaningful, cleaner break and variation in the centre. Much more like it!-) For the Ancestor introduces a lilting voice to the mix which is ok. Nothing Can Change is back with the heavies, like a nice little jamming session clip. No Way is a slow rock track and it is OK when it gets going, again too short. Love Scene is a slightly distorted piano track, which is OK in itself. Overall, there is promise and success in some tracks but mediocre in some others. As an album it lacks continuity and therefore raises the question of what was trying to be achieved here. I think if you stuck to one style or another it would make it minimalist music and get away with the shortness of the tracks themselves.
