This project was inspired over a bowl of pho at a local Hmong restaurant with a friend back in January 2009. The conversation moved to our shared desire to know more of God; not just using the right words to sound like we know Him, but to really know Him well. It hit me that evening, the weight and privilege we have been given through the Bible. I decided there that I would set out to know God more and learn His thoughts on matters by singing through the Psalms. After a couple months of singing the Psalms, I have learned that we can be honest and real with God; way more than I ever thought. We do not need to candy-coat how we feel. Our feelings may need realignment with reality, but they can be given to God in prayer and song in an authentic way. I knew this before starting the project, but I became more convinced of it deep in my soul. I love the Lord because of His pursuing grace in my life. He calls for total surrender of our lives, not to just do the required, but rather to give Him the right to do His good work in and through us in all areas of our lives.
