FINE BEFORE YOU CAME / AS A COMMODORE - split CD (Holidays Records) - 2005 We share this release with another band of good friends from Milan. Unfortunatly after a while the record was out As a commodore decided to quit. This is the only record they ever made and we're proud they did it with us. There are 3 songers for each band. FBYC's songers are actually one long concept song called TRUBLES and we meant it to be kinda tribute to the '70ies rock music. hope you won't find it to boring. write to holidaysrecords@hotmail.com if you want to buy this record.

Songs, die nicht nach 3 min. vorbei sind, ...

... sondern sich weiter durch die Zeit bahnen ohne Langeweile und Eintönigkeit zu vermitteln - sowas mag ich und als Konzept für dieses Co-Work zweier Bands ist es voll aufgegangen.

Fine Before You Came - zwei andere Alben gibt's ja bereits schon hier bei Jamendo - zeigen diesmal etwas mehr Nähe zum - vielleicht sogar etwas psychedelischen - Rock der 70er. Viel Gitarre - in allen Facetten von clean bis total overdriven, durchdrungen von prägnantem Gesang und genügend Platz für solistische Einlagen und ausgeklügelte Breaks.

As A Commodore - kommen etwas getragener daher: langphrasige, zum Teil mehrstimmige Gesangsparts werden von Gitarrendramatik umspielt und lassen immer wieder mit ruhigem Gitarrenpicking gestaltete Pausen um sich zu sammeln.

Insgesamt würde ich das Album als leicht melancholisch, durchaus aber auch ab und an dramatisch sowie empfehlenswert bezeichnen.

... eine Richtung

(dies ist Archivmaterial (siehe Band-kommentar)- ich finde gut, das hier altes Material veröffentlicht wird, das man sonst nie zu hören bekommen würde)

harter - unkonventioneller rock (nicht zum mitklatschen) mit psychodelischen elementen. für mich hörbar: einflüsse einiger late 80ies/early 90ies post-punk-bands

die jungs (beide bands!) können spielen, die produktion macht einen sehr professionellen eindruck, musikalische ideen sind genug da.

wer das album für sich entdeckt hat, wird es mögen
