Dan Bryk writes and sings catchy, funny, sometimes confessional and frequently heartbreaking pop songs about love and, well... just about anything.
Bryk has garnered major critical and media notice and a steadily growing, insanely enthusiastic audience for his quirky, spellbinding songcraft. He has a healthy cult audience in Japan, where he toured to support his previous full-length record "Lovers Leap". His newest record is called "Discount Store" (Urban Myth/Firefly Recordings) and the original songs from that record are Dan's first recordings to be shared on Jemendo. Dan's next full-length record "Pop Psychology" (Urban Myth/Fuck Music) is expected later this year.
He will break your heart if you'll let him.
"This songman from Toronto is some kind of genius, not the unerring kind, more the corruscating kind." -Robert Christgau, Village Voice
""It's funny that singers who cynically exploit idealized notions of plastic beauty and weighty fate scan as earnest and sensitive, while cynical Bryk's representations of the actual world, where physically flawed, terminally bored people half-heartedly find and lose each other all the time, contain so much more truth and empathy." -Brian Howe, Pitchfork
