Hangman

Hangman was founded in Vaasa, Finland, in 1997 by Mikael, as he wanted to realize his vision of a heavy metal band modelled after King Diamond and Megadeth etc.. Around the turn of the millennium the band was put on hold, but in 2005 Mikael decided it was high time to bring Hangman back to life.

Hangman..s new lineup recorded a promo (Promo-06), made a music video and played a few gigs until they decided to upgrade the band..s sound. The band decided to let their vocalist go replacing him with Jeremia, whose great showmanship really transformed Hangmans..s live shows. Indeed after this lineup change the band..s live shows became what they are today: an energetic display of heavy metal.

The inclusion of Jeremia upgraded the band..s sound earning the band new fans and a lot of new gigging opportunities. At the same time Hangman was working on their debut album, The Gallows, which they finally decided to release online. Keijo Niinimaa of Rotten Sound and Medeia fame along with Markku Kuikka from Status Minor provided great backing vocals for the album. The album was mixed by Kimmo Nyyssönen, a long time collaborator with Hangman, and it was mastered by Sami Koivisto.

Before moving to the next level, one more line up change was required. In early 2009 the band recruited a new lead guitarist,Heca, who provided the band with a lot of additional technical expertise. After this line up change the band was finally ready to step forth and spread its message of Heavy Metal all over Finland - and the world...
