Returning We Hear the Larks is the solo project of Jak Noble, a student from Bristol, England. The name is taken from the poem by Isaac Rosenberg.
As well as having experience in local metal bands such as Anathematize, Jak writes and records his own music in his bedroom. Since his last project Sins of the Watchmen slowed down at the end of 2008, Jak has begun work on a more progressive style of metal, hailing absurd time signatures and polyrhythms. Freshly renamed, Returning We Hear the Larks (as the title suggests) focuses on the First World War and the horrific and tragic loss of almost a generation of young men.
Jak also writes and records punk rock music with his younger brother in the band Lentil, as well as writing his own soundtracks for indie film productions.
