The band is formed in 2004 when the three members, Damiano (vox and drums), Aldo (vox and guitar) and Fluvio (bass) casually meet in a deli late at night. The beginning idea was to put together a Jimi Hendrix tribute band, but during the reharsals the target changes. The three of them feel the need to work on original material and so the first songs have birth. In a few months they put together a repertoire that they perform in local clubs of Messina and its province. IN 2006 they release the first two demos: the first one, Isteria, consisting of the first songs written by the band, is a rock ep with committed lyrics, recorded at the Imago Sound in Messina, the second one, [griot], recorded in three nights with the production of Andrea Balestra (Berklee College of Music), features three new songs, that present a heavier approach than the previous ones. During the same year the band takes part in various competition,it's hosted by several local radio stations. In 2007 the band takes off on a mini tour that touches Catania, Calabria, the province of Naples and Bologna. After a performance at the V-Day in Messina, the band returns in the studio to record its first full-lenght album which is going to consist of ten tracks, some new material and some rearranged old material, and is going to present an aggressive rock sound, far from the poppish melancholy of the first release, which they call bastard rock. The name Tiresia is taken from a figure in greek mithology, a blind fortune teller, and was chosen by the band because of its association with oscurity, a way to approach subliminal life, tainted by negative life experiences, close and far from us alike, that affect us every day in the way we face things, that push our threshold of pain and bearing, taking us away from any emotional perception we have to the point we simplify things that surround us, blindfolding our subconsciousness. The songs are about this feeling, talking about facts in their province or in the whole world, without the presumption to prophetize, but simply willing to narrate personal or collective events, exposing thoughts and emotion, spacing through musical genres and still keeping a hard rock trade mark.
