The group “ZmeiRaduga” invites you to go travelling with it to the world of musical fairy tales and myths told without words. The music of “ZmeiRaduga” is ethno dream & dance. It is the energy of time; there are no common stylistic bounds and trends in it. It is live improvisational ethnic music which lifts the veil of the world creation consisting of the sound and rhythm. “Dreamtime” is springing up just here and now! Listen to its rhythm. “…The first sound born in the bowels of the earth converts into Rainbow”.

The sound evolution performs:

Anna Benisato – Australian Didgeridoo (the most ancient instrument of the planet), shaman hand drum, the breath of rhythm and mystery.

John Kukaryamba – a great many percussion – African drums, talking hand drums, Tibetan singing bowls and bells, ceremonial Peruvian flutes, bangs and rattles, harmonicas, Russian and Polynesian ocarinas, voices and marvels.

In the old Dreamtime when the world was still quite young there was not a single sound on the earth; people, animals and trees could neither sing nor talk. They live in the entire silence.

One day the great Rainbow Serpent (Zmey Raduga) decided to ask Mother-Earth to give sounds to her children. As he could not talk he found a hollow log eaten from within by termites and breathed out his entreaty out of it. And there happened a Miracle. The Earth harked to his request and gave her song to everybody.

Thus the first sound was created. A hollow log is the first musical instrument and now it is called the Flute of the Great Rainbow Serpent or Didgeridoo.

The song of the Earth flew into the sky and turned into Rainbow. And since that time the Earth is filled with sounds: water, stones, sand, birds and animals can also sing songs now. They say that the sound of the magic flute Didgeridoo still fulfils the most secret wishes of those who hear this sound.


Long-long ago that sound was born
In the entrails of the Earth.
It lives in trees, in cries of birds.
It is a bumblebee plunged into the flower.
It is the breath of life, the immortal sound.
