The music of Lunatic Moonriders of Uranus is a mixture of various musical genres, ranging from death metal to progressive rock/pop, ambient, jazz, folk and post-rock. Lyrics and song-titles are influenced by science fiction (e.g. Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick & Timothy Zahn) and the space in general.
Lunatic Moonriders was formed in fall 2004. Moonride One was released in November 2004. Headquarters in April 2005. The Battle of the Qvaaki System in November 2005, which completed the original "trilogy". "EP" was completed in May 2006, after which there was a longer pause. Alpha Oceanus was released in September 2007.
Commander Iuho (or one of his aliases) is the only member in Lunatic Moonriders, playing all of the instruments, composing/arranging all the music and producing all the recordings, with the exception of "EP" where "J. Karjalainen" played some drums.
