30 years old French singer/songwriter based in Chicago, IL, NO has a mission: show Chicago that French lyrics can groove!
The Jury at “Unisong International Songwriting Contest” would probably agree as they have selected “Laissez-moi passer” among the Top20 finalists’ songs for the category “Non-English” 2006-2007! In France, "Vis l'air French songs contest" had also brought NO to their semi-finals in 2006.
That is what his 5 tracks demo “Laissez-moi passer” allowed him to do in 2006. As he already knew that he was moving to the US by the end of the year, he couldn't really start a band in Paris and recorded by himself all vocals, guitars and bass guitar (drums are BFD samples).
What better than a concert, if you really want to show that French words can groove?
In the first half of 2006, NO was able to secure one to two gigs every month in different pubs and coffee-houses in Paris.
Now he is working the big room again in Chicago! Reaching out first to the French community and already playing for the Chicago chapter of "Union des Francais a l'Etranger", and the Summer Party of the French-American Chamber of Commerce, and again by leading a French Blues Cafe for the Alliance Française of Chicago (October 11, November 8 and December 6 2007).
In 2008, NO is back in studio, working on the new album "Paris-Chicago". In the meantime, he played at the kick off party of the "Festival de la Francophonie" on March 8th, and will play for the fundraising Gala of The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center in April 16th. Following-up on the Celiac Disease Gala, 2 dates at one of the sponsor's place: City Park Grill in Highland Park, IL.
