First, I love the cover! Very evocative and well designed. It provides a perfect visual to the music. And the music... very crisp and well produced, allowing each player to shine. I would agree though about an earlier comment that the songs do not tend to vary much... so it is best to listen to the album when you are chilling out -- it creates a lovely mood and captures your attention, but is not jarring in any way. You just have to accept the album (and any music, for that matter!) on its own terms to enjoy it.

What sets this album apart from other "electro world techno dance" records is that it does not have one hook it uses endlessly, pounding you with its limited scope. Mysterious Sounds covers a lot of musical ground and is always coming up with something new. In a crowded field of technical whizzes, this collection has real art to it.

From the opening chord of "The End Of The World Is Just A Beginning", you are immediately transported and led through the soundscape Elvatorium have carefully created. The first cut does not vary much, does not build, does not pulse with excitement, yet it manages to never be boring--in fact it is almost hypnotic in its ability to pull you into its own state of mind. Once you are there, you are ready to listen to the rest of the music as it was intended to be heard--on its own terms. And you are happy to do so.

sebteix - tout pour le groove

This album is very well put together--a blend of American urban funk, and a European jazz sensibility that has perfectly captured the feeling on having a blast while making (and listening to) the music. Each track holds up on its own, as well as working together as an album. A curious blend of chill and dance.
