'Vorspiel im Garten' is my first 'Die drei Lenöre' album. Been listening this music since last one week. I was really amazed by the calm beauty of the music. But I was also embarrassed by the strange 'crude' singing technique in some of the songs. But overall I am really satisfied to write that I enjoyed this album. This album is on my top 5 artists list on my Last FM profile and this proves at least for me that I have been listening to the tracks daily, at least 2 of the songs 'Mein Frau' & 'Currywurst' which are very absorbingly awesome creations by the composers. I can write this review alone by just listening to these 2 magnificent tracks and can give it a 10, but I won't do that!
The complete album displays a little 'folkish' trends spread across a pop genre of early 90's with a bit of tinge from the 80's. The music is awesomely old fashioned bar the lyrics which are funny (as far as I have understood). One of the flaws of this album is that the music, though it is awesome, it sounds a little artificial. It doesn't sound natural. It is calm but lacks that originality, perhaps I think that's because of usage of virtual instruments? 'Mountainbiker Klause' sounded as if directly taken from a nursery rhyme. It's like back to kindergarten! 'Neunmalgescheit' sounded like 'Tulpen Haus Hamsterdam" but at a faster tempo and a bit of late tweaking. I was expecting some mad laughing music in 'LOL ROTFL FULLACK', but found it to be a dull track. The interview track was useless. Perhaps added forcefully just to make this album reach a playtime of over 50 minutes I guess?
There are no words left to describe 'Mein Frau' & 'Currywurst'. This album is worth download only for those tracks with a surprise gift in the form of 'Der anderer Leute Neid'. Anyways this album besides providing me with good music would surely help me in my listening comprehensions in German (Especially the interview track). I badly wanted some audio in German.
For every student: download this album in the best format, put it in your mp3 player. Don't forget to listen to it on your speakers atleast once at a good volume early in the morning and also after returning from your respective school or college. This package will blow your mind off. This is the kind of music I am thirsty for. I listen to it while cycling my way through the farms and forests on the way to my college. 'Aeon' will definitely help you relax in your exam days.
Mindblowing stuff!
Perhaps guys, you should change your band name from 'zero' to 'hero' !! This album is not only one of the best 'CC' music I ever listened to, but one of the best in any kind of distribution. Simply amazing music! I get goosebumps while listening to these perfectly engineered rock songs by 'zero'. The most amazing point is the recording quality which is very professional.
I am impressed by the lead vocalist's voice. It is crystal clear and energetic. You show deep emotion in your voice, which I can feel directly in my heart. Very lovely performance indeed. The entire mixer of guitar, vocals and bass is utmost amazing and superior in quality. Oh man! What do I write more?? I am lost for words!! XD
Any 'alternative rock' fan out there reading my review may kindly download this masterpiece right away and enjoy this deep, intense and emotional journey!
Finally we can call this work as an album. I would rather combine both the albums ´At Someone Else´s Funeral´ and this one and enjoy 30 minutes of great work. Etherdust has really improved. This album is very fluid. It is really thrilling listening to the layers and layers of music. Seriously, your work is a lot better than most of the commercial artists coming out in India.
If only this album had atleast one song in Hindi or any other regional language, it would have increased its pride to the highest level making it a bi-language hit stuff. Thats because their isn´t any album on Jamendo having songs written in Indian languages. I like all of the songs, especially ´24´ & ´Take My Place (Head Mix) really cool stuff !!
I would certainly come to watch your live performance one day.
I have been listening to Zeropage albums since May. Their albums are one of a kind. Its very difficult to find artists of their stature on Jamendo in this genre. Their work is very professional.
'Ambient Pills Update' is an interesting follow up to their explosive first album 'Ambient Pills'. 'Ambient Pills' was a rather smooth chillout album. But this album has some 'distorted' approach (not to confuse with guitar or something ;-). Distorted in sense of the melodies they have chosen to make the music. This album is like back to basics in this genre (Like Casino Royale). Simple music with Zeropage trademark bending. I say its a very good continuation to their already fascinating work. Both the albums of Zeropage are like drugs. You will become addicted. You will never get bored with their music. Lets see whether they release a third installment or not.
Nice and smooth original compositions by Tryad in this interesting compilation. The recording quality has certainly improved as compared to their previous jewel 'Public Domain'.
I was mesmerized by the songs 'Alone', 'You are god' & 'this'. The ideas are so original and so professionally executed that they can cast a spell on any listener.
'Struttin' was a little strange yet interesting track. 'Breathe' was a little boring and long. 'Waltz into Moonlight' was an enjoyable listen even though it was very very long. The weak vocals of 'Lovely' made it a dull listen.
Well some other tracks such as 'All the same', 'Mesmerize', 'Beauty' and 'Empty' seemed to me as old fashioned ones. There was some hidden element in them which made them sound like a lullaby. Probably some sleep mechanism engraved in the recording ;-)
In the end I would like to say that, 'Listen' was a compilation of all sorts of tastes. The piano work was flawless often reminding me the music of early 20th century. But that old fashioned 'ness' bored me a little. If I had to make a comparison between 'Public Domain' and 'Listen', I would prefer the former one because its much more energetic, much more dark. But if I had to recommend any one of the 2 albums to my parents I would prefer 'Listen'.
Already awaiting your third installation!
Wow !! This is a wonderful track. Very cool and relaxing. Good use of sitar samples (or u have played it?). The starting of the track is excellent and as it moves forward it just melts like butter. Very impressive music indeed !! I want more. A single track is not enough to display the creative talent that you have in store with you.
'Tales of mystery and imagination' has its own genre which is quite distinct from all other albums found here on Jamendo. The work is very professional. Each and every track is carefully crafted. The recording quality is flawless. Drum work is one of the finest. This album gives a reflection of many of Enigma's works. The darkness and musical illusions created by the artist are surreal. One thing I appreciate the most about this album is the mixing. Various guitar samples and different ambient sounds gives immense pleasure to my ears. A must listen for all. My favorite tracks are: 'Cyberrace' & 'Harlequin'.
Sikhism has finally arrived musically on Jamendo. This is really brilliant work by the artist. A soft prayer turned into an ambient chillout track. A great reproduction of a prayer which I hear everytime I visit a Gurudwara. Though I must agree that the sax work is a little far, a more ambient sound in this composition. Nice meditative experience while listening early in the morning.
Good to see a small Ganesha on your album art :-)
Namaste... Mudit ;-)
I downloaded this jewelry box 2 weeks ago. The last month was one of the most busiest one of my life and add to that- power cuts due to storms and a terrorist attack. So there was very little I could give to this album. But when I really started listening this album from my heart I found out that the quality of the songs is even better than "Between Light & Shadows".
My favorite tracks are "Lise", "Afro Red", "Afro Blue" & "That Feeling". Please excuse me, but was that really Stefano's voice in the track "Hunt"? I am a little confused, it sounds more of a woman's voice. Fried Lil Chicken was disappointing. It finished even before I could relish it. Overall this album is a box full of jewels of different kinds and shapes and have been put on a free music site like this one for a loot.
