As with most of their music Doc and Lena create a multilayered meaning on this album,it can be seen as a visual interpretation of each track, like Steppes we can imagine the physical nature of the music,or we can see further and apply no visual interpratation but experience the sound atmosphere
and contemplate on the experience itself, lastly we can use the sounds as a door to inner meditation, calmness and tranquility. Each track has this depth enclosed within, each track is a liberation from negative realities and each track can take us into a new experience of meditation. This is an excellent album and gives a good representation of their music ,i would reccomend this album to all who love Doc and Lena's music over the years.

its good well put together theres no human touch
so its a bit mechanical there are no imorovisation tracks i think they mostly work.but with the bass drum there lies the problem to much use of it for my taste.

i can almost feel the nature of the steppes, the very essence of a place none of us will see.to translate the audio into a vision and in that dream we too can experience the steppes.

Daris explores the human voice and its potential
here he is creating as a avant guard work a strange
evocation earth ritual that seems timeless in its origins.solif is less sharp but just as well produced.it hangs onto its so quiet drone whilst the enviorment moves past.leading us into rest.a very deep rest as silences come and go....
the concept has worked.another angle of music
discovered....well done

excelent production, and a lot of work has gone into this album.it seems to want to go from hard rock to into space opera.and i find the beginings and end of the tracks very good, but a type of newage is also present.
i'll see what i think later....

paniq-unsecurious ive just listened too its a confident piece of work, and yes the structure is good
some of it felt trancy some not ,well produced good recordings, nice use of sound, but theres no relaxation
in it,its hard, cold ,machine like sounds, but thats not important in the energy it is really full.
it quite blew me away the intensity and speed....it's far too fast for me....and i still find the use
of the bass drum in that 4/4 rythms is too hard core for me....i prefer multiple patterns

Informations personnelles

This is the second Musictrade album release from English electronica artist Softspace, following his Experiments at the Edge of Time [MT007, March 2006]. Where the debute album was built mostly on fairly light and uncomplicated synth material, this new album is definitely more experimental and ambivalent in nature. Synth-based material is still prominent but now it is intimately combined with field recording / foundsound material in the form of 'documentary soundscapes' and radiophonic style constructs. From these ingredients Softspace creates a new imaginary world full of curious aural details for Mahler's imaginary cat to step in and start to explore. To give a rough style/genre pointer, think of psychedelic Stockhausen with bits of Beatlesque leaking through the scenery. The next album Room with a View continued the developement of this synthesis of samples and synths.Bringing reminicences that connect with a deeper self. Evening Shadows goes deeper into the world of samples. With a sense of aural beauty and a taste for the experimental. These are calm but richly layered works with a space-like quality and a touch of meditation. So if you are looking for a relaxing, visually inspiring musical journey into the inner/outer space, this music is yours to enjoy. On his fifth album the English experimental electronica wizard Softspace takes us to new exciting journeys into microcosms of bioelectric fields, pulsating neural synapses and other similarly strange environments. Numerous friends of experimental music around the world have already found his talent and imagination and know what to expect: fantastically rich layered synth sounds and sonic imageries, surprising turns and twists in the songs, beauty and peace within strangest chaos. In DayDreams Softspace takes us to new hights dipping us into seperate realities. As we drift in and out glimpses of our dream echo through our psyche as our imagination revels in possibilities. This packed album will take you on a journey from the inner to the outer. After numerous albums on jamendo we finaly come up to date 2011 with the album Slow Rotations a more reflective style shows itself with space in the music creating a great feeling of inner quietness and calm.
