Busted In Bulgaria is a collection of songs that document living in a strange land. During a two year period, the tracks were all recorded in a raw stripped down way on a laptop using Adobe Audition 2.0. The songs range from Psychedelic, shoegaze, folk-rock to experimental. The album is full of sound effects to add a creative vibe. Some songs even have the actual sound from students in the Bulgarian school where Jim Guittard taught English as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Pernik. Guittard sings a handful of songs in the Bulgarian language. Guittard wrote and produced the album songs.

Since I moved Quite often as I was growing up, and even moved from New England to Oregon I can relate to an album based on living in a strange place. I would recommend this album.

Very Interesting Perspective

It is incredibly interesting to "see" one's familiar realm through the perspective of a complete stranger to that realm. :D

My favourite song is "Babas On Their Bench". But all of them are great.

Du country folk, parfois très minimaliste avec un penchant Milie Croche, d'autre fois légèrement expérimental tendance Père Ubu, la plupart du temps psyché-lo-fi avec une touche de Syd Barrett (Listen to your voice) ou de Mama's and Papa's (Hoola Hoop Girl)... Un ensemble assez inégal et hétérogène, avec d'excellents titres à extraire ... une écoute exhaustive s'impose.

des petits contes des petites histoires toutes narrées avec une simplicité déconcertante
on dirait des petites bulles de savon que l'on s'amusait à craquer comme quand nous étions gosses
chaque titre nous fait voyager dans le monde de mister guittard (bien accueillant d'ailleurs)

es grato escuchar rolas pycodélicas actuales, más cuando vienen inspiradas de tierras tan lejanas y desconocidos para los latinoamericanos,me recierda a Blue Velvet Underground en algunas pistas... muy grato
