Grown Up friendly music for kids....
Thanks for checking out the album! Okay, in a nutshell while in the car, for trips long or short we listen to an array of music genres. Realizing that our children were singing word for word The White Stripes' "Apple Blossom", songs from Greenday, Jack Johnson, The Shins, The Strokes or whatever we were listening to, I had a thought.... "What if there were a way to bridge the gap between kids' music and our music while opening up a dialogue between parents and kids about issues we sometimes forget to touch upon?" As well as, of course, references to nose picking and toilets to get everybody smiling. Alright, maybe not everybody, but some at least. Well, it gets us smiling anyway. So, having a life long passion for writing music, and past experience as a lounge lizard in NYC, (Shh! Don't tell anybody.) I got to work writing songs that have kid friendly lyrics and cool music for grown ups, pulling influence from rock, blues, folk, punk, even a little blue grass. A major goal here was to extend the age range from pre-schooler all the way to adolescence so that the middle schooler in the back seat could get into it as well (Or at least be able to deal with it). The result is a not so ordinary kid's album that we have lots of fun listening to. And we hope you do too!
