Although my first impressions were medium- the whole thing is not bad. Title of the album may be a bit misleading, as the music reminds me more of rock than jazz, but i'm sure this is how it was thought to be.
I like the 'mood' of the album. It isn't funny for sure, it makes one sit on a chair in the rainy evening, with a drink in one hand and the cigarette in other. This music makes one feel relaxed, but also makes one think more about oneself, maybe about metaphisical side of life also. That is what makes 'Gonzo jazz' even more valuable. Such tracks as 'Sunday morning' are a great occasion to take a journey through both the soul and the world.
One thing makes the album even more interesting- the fact that it's pure improvisation. It can be heard, but there is no single point in the album where it disturbs. This is what can be called an improvisation done in the right way.
What i also like is that there is a certain reference to the early prog rock achievements, you can almost feel that the album was made with a 'touch' of the music from this genre, as King Crimson for the easiest example.
