C’est en 2005, sous les aurores boréales de Suède que les premières compositions sont écrites par Fred et Kris, influençant le nom BOREA. Un style mélodique aux ambiances « Tim Burtonesque » pour piano, guitare et basse. Fred est alors pianiste dans une comédie musicale (LuleSpexet 2005) cette opportunité lui permet de se produire lors d’une tournée dans de nombreuses villes de Suède: Stockholm, Lulea, Linköping, Skelleftea, Göteborg...

En 2006, BOREA se restructure en France à Nancy, ville ou Fred poursuit des études d’ingénieur. Le groupe écume alors les scènes du grand Est (Nancy, Metz, Luxembourg, Montbéliard) et enregistre une première maquette sous le nom The Washing Machine.

Enfin, en 2007 Fred et Kris quittent Nancy pour la capitale. Nico les rejoint rapidement à la batterie. Les influences convergent, la motivation est plus présente que jamais, BOREA se forge alors naturellement une identité plus pop. Les concerts se font sans attendre sur des scènes franciliennes.
Le groupe n’ayant alors ni label ni producteur, décide de s’investir dans l’entreprise d’un 1er album. Ces titres sont enregistrés dans les studios du réseau92, le salon de Fred et Kris, et même la cuisine de Nico !

In 2005, Fred and Kris's first pieces were written with Swedish northern lights as a backdrop. The latter, also known as aurora borealis, were to give birth to the initial project and the current band’s name. The piano, guitar and bass parts were indeed compiled under the name 'Borea'. They were characterized by their tuneful style and a mood echoing with Tim Burton's movies. Fred was then a pianist in a musical - LuleSpexet 2005. This enabled him to give public performances during a Swedish tour including many towns: Stockholm, Lulea, Linköping, Skelleftea, Göteborg...

2006 was the year when the BOREA project took shape in Nancy, France, where Fred was then a student in Computer Science. The four-member band gave public performances in the East of France (Nancy, Metz, Belfort, Montbéliard where Fred comes from) and in Luxembourg. They also recorded their first demo under the name of “The Washing Machine”.

Last but not least, in 2007 Fred and Kris left Nancy, moved to Paris and Nico joined them on the drums. More stimulated than ever, the band quickly got a new pop identity when the band’s various influences converged. They soon performed in several spots in Paris. With no label or producer, the band decide to put a lot into the project of a debut album. The tracks were recorded in studios, Fred and Kris’s living room and even in Nico’s kitchen!
