Glad to discover some very interesting electronic sounds, and they are just around my corner. Very nice mixing style, the word psychedelic made me very curious, but indeed there are enough elements in it that make you flow towards more abstract directions. Its always very difficult to integrate voices in electronic styles, and i'm glad it doesn't disturb here very much. The use of rhythm could've been a bit more nondirective, multitonic and versatile, but overall a very nice album .
PS to the chilling spirit: just give those damn stars, cause you're unwanting blowing his ratings ;)
floating away.... such a wonderful piece delivered again by Doc and Lena, they're getting only better. This is so beautiful played and composed, that every classic but also very contemporary musiclover will enjoy ... relax, close yer eyes and listen.... words are gone. a masterpiece
got an extra hour today and this generous release filled it more than adequately. Indeed very nice minimal experimental works, the piano is a great instrument for this. Great moody ambiances, track 4 is a masterpiece. The composer kept his patience, tracks stay very nice open. I like this far better than "Slow Movements" the other release where the "organ" fills so much. This is a great minimal pianoalbum with ambiance.
Algor and especially Sideproject are musically superb pieces for me, and very enjoyable listening. This is experimenting with pleasure, for the composer as well as the listener. 0 is a bit too chaotic and randomized, as is the SP-2 where the influence from the composer seems absent and the machine takes over. A 10 for the sideproject. Interesting stuff.
you asked for it on the forum.... this is no grunge, this is not alternative. The music is very simple, no surprises, a highschoolprogram for starting musicians. Your enthusiasm is great, but i'm afraid you have to practice a lot and come up with something special. The singers voice is too neat, speaks a bit comic english and needs to scream her lungs out. The last track is a bit coming to the right direction, better built and varied and energetic. At last i find it disrespectful to use the album title from what i consider being one of the best albums ever made: Rock Bottom from Robert Wyatt. That is the bottom...
Very funny minialbum with a superb story behind it, the great concept of an unfinished masterpiece, mostly only received after a tragical accident. Fortunately the artist is very alive :) What stays are the very well appreciated joyful tones with the romantic and tragical text's where kanga is a master, this time in English!! Music made with a big smile and a serious undertone, serious comics, the Einstein on Amiga. At least you made me relatively smile again.
Ah, something's happening again: a new release from Albert B. This one reveals a sideworld full of emotions, minimalistic approaches are easily followed by dark deep studies of profane, tribal and even religious themes, as wonderful use of (middle) eastern stylemoments indicate. The innocent beauty of Lamb is surrounded with obscurity, the monks don't know where to pray anymore. Imagination and reality are superbly mixed up, it brings you everywhere, especially in deeper corners of your mind, as in Mask. Great use of rhythm, sounds and melody throughout the album.Roots is bringing you to a heaven and Fog gets you down. My dog started barking in Slow, a sign there really is something going on, not necessarily peaceful... Albert indeed manages to end with a superb popsong, where Rust covers the optimistic vivid attitude that's behind this again superb work from Albert B. I felt, maybe not strangely, very comfortable in this world. Thank you.
Wow, a live album..... in these times of modern electronics its very hard to give an interesting live gig. You seem to have succeeded greatly here, the songs are fantastic, differ in mood from the originals, sound great and are recorded masterly. It must have been a remarkable show, wish i were there ;)Ether Horizons is amazing, but in fact there are no weaknesses on this album, its one big trip. I guess you're ready now for major gigs and expect you soon in Amsterdam. I'll definitely attend. Here emotion and skill make a beautiful couple. Thank you very much for sharing this great experience and making electronics so very much alive.
great miniatures, great atmosphere, great moods, as if captain beefheart joined the residents. My only problem is the tracks and album are way too short for me, but i'm very grateful for this gift.
Finland is a rich source for great soundmasters. Here also the strenght lies in patience, a minimalistic approach to get a great result with sparse means. The under the skin feeling makes you active in inventing a bigger sound yourself, you can fill in and absorb these great themes. Also tracknames like Iloinen puhdistautuminen rivoudesta show that some great music doesn't need voices just titles. This Ristik group is very very interesting. Great work
KraftiM. A soundarchitect from Holland. Works with found sounds, fieldrecordings, voices, instruments, wavs & midi's and mixes & blends them in his own crossrhythmic style.
Some of my favs are Tim Hecker, Philip Jeck, Murcof, old Namlook and Tetsu Inoue, Mathias Grassow, Carl Stone , Francisco Lopèz, and a lot of Musique Concrète....
First appearances on Musictrade netlabel MT003 (Norberg Field Recordings) MT005 (Reqiems for a Submerged City), a tribute to New Orleans and MT010 (Ice Mustard). Next influenced by classic masterpieces from Schubert, Stravinsky, Messiaen. Lately developing both in ambient directions to catch the complexity of silence and more experimental rhythmic work rather to shift yer soul than move yer feet. The BackvieW album is a collection of these works, awaiting a next release at Musictrade.
Lately collaborating with electronic drummer/composer Justbase, also from the Netherlands. Featuring Justbase is released. After that the ep Solyuga is released, 2 dark tracks, and 2 collaborations with Japanese friends and english singer Geechi. And finally an extended cooperation with Krita Yuga, a sitarplayer from Japan, which resulted in the etSitara album, released in may 2007.
Next came the release of Ancient Species here on Jamendo, followed by the JamatriX Project, a virtual collaboration with 5 Jamendo artists.
News and extra releases you can find at www.myspace.com/KraftiM , where his first official solorelease came in november 2007 with a very expanded version of the etSitara release here on Jamendo.
You're very welcome there too.
