Hot damn! Josh's music keeps getting better. I love each and every tune.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I was sent a recommendation for this puppy, but after listening to a few tracks I had to download the torrent. Since downing the album I have listened to it non-stop. It is comical at times, but Papa Dada show that they are more diverse with Leave a Light on for Me, a lovely ballad. The album has consistently high quality recording, editing, instrumentation and lyrics. It is a beautiful album and a must-listen.
The other day I received an email recommendation from a friend at Jamendo saying that Neil Leyton had released a new album via the website. I was excited to say the least, but the download was delayed due to website maintenance. Today Jamendo was up and running, so I downloaded the torrent and gave the EP a listen. I was not disappointed either. Neil delivers rebellious Brit-Rock that will start your feet a-tapping, all the way up and into the brain. His songs are fun and as always touched by his own political message. Well worth a download!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I downloaded this puppy, because my internet has recently gone to the equivalent of fast dial-up. I was happy with the result, five tracks that showcased one of the best new Jamendo bands. Be Low is a great listen with nice instrumental and lyrical work. Amelie proves itself to be a band worth looking out for in the future.
I have been trawling the archives and the new releases on Jamendo for a while now but very few albums have impacted me the way that 'Wake Up' has. The sound quality, presentation, lyrics, instrumentation, etcetera... are excellent and the album is one that I can see listening to in the long term. Think of an acoustic version of The Postal Service and that sums up the style, but with comes something else that I can't quite put my finger on. Well worth the listen and download.
This album is a delight to listen to. I have had trouble finding acoustic rock on Jamendo, with all the electronic tunes collected here, but what it lacks in quantity this LP makes up for in quality. Everything is spot on: the instruments, the vocals, the lyrics, production - Everything! I have listened to this album so many times trying to debug it but it is flawless. Pure elemental magic!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started streaming this puppy, but when it started playing I knew that it was a winner. The instrumentation, lyrics, recording/mixing and presentation was excellent. I am reminded of Lily Allen and other popular female singer/songwriters but this album offers something extra. Ruth is a wonderful storyteller so far untainted by the corporate music industry. Her work is quirky, but has a serious side to it as well. I could go on for ages, but I for now just download the album. It is worth the bandwidth and hard drive space.
I've only just started listening to jazz but this adds something extra. It is a great mix of the ethnic and jazz. A great combo that I can't help but listen to over and over again.
This album was killer sweet, with a great mixture of funk, jazz and synth. An excellent production and well worth the download.
For many years I've enjoyed the music of many tribal communities across the globe. This album mixes the sounds of Africa with synth in such a beautiful. I can't help but listen to the refreshing sounds that though, at times are reminiscent of Deep Forest's self-titled album, stand tall and proud all on its own. SaReGaMa's 'Bohdi Tree' is an audio delight and highly addictive.
