Describe your album

I recorded Woods of Chaos in HD at 192kHz - 24 bit. The songs are meant to be loud and more in your face. The album is a reflection of my battles, successes and determination to move forward. There is a lot of venting exemplified with intense and heavy notes throughout the songs. I’m not scared anymore. The "Woods of Chaos" will always be there, but I'm able to overcome the beasts and find peace. Create your own experience with each song. Enjoy!

As a fan of prog-rock music, when I hear the words "solo piano album", it often makes me cringe. The thought of a well-honed keyboard player going acoustic and showing off their dexterity and, moreso, their ego. These artists tend to be appalling songwriters and such albums are barely listenable despite the instrumental prowess they display.

Thank heavens for Rob Costlow!

One listen to "Woods of Chaos" is enough to convince anyone that Rob is not only a skilled pianist but also a very gifted and (for want of a better word) efficient songwriter. It's not an album where he shows off how fast he can play the piano, but one that displays the moods he can evoke with it. And before you go thinking he's another Richard Clayderman, his writing isn't romanticised and sugar-coated dross at all - it's hard to describe: it's too modern to be classical and too diverse to be new age. What's even more surprising is that a full album of solo piano instrumentals is incredibly easy to listen to in one go - a rare feat.

Play the opening track, "Meant to Be" and that speaks for itself. You'll be back for more - I guarantee it.

I know almost nothing about what a "good" piano song should be like but I must say that this is just beautiful. Just beautiful:o) Beautiful:o) A friend of mine says "nothing special" but who cares about that? I have no time for looking for any special features that would define a "really good song"; I just know Rob Costlow's music is sort of analogical to my heartbeat and I can't get it off my ears and I feel great and I will probably start with piano lessons... I have never heard anything that free of emotional bluntness. And if someone says the songs are all the same then I personally admit I would joyfully bear 200 more...:o)

(And by the way, my musical taste is not that easy to please so if I say beautiful, then it IS bueatiful!)

:o) :o)) :o)))

This is what I have been looking for. Contemporary pieces, purely piano without any background musics..that's the best ever for my ear. Rob Costlow rox!

I see this artists songs as good but that that great.

This reminds me a bit of a crisp version of George Winston's Autumn. It sounds like there is the occassional stutter, but that may be me not following the music.

The album is arranged well, strong at the beginning and the end, (my favorite tracks are Meant To Be and Woods Of Chaos) and a touch slower and more reflective in the middle.

Overall, a great album listen to while your doing some desk work and need to drown out the rest of the world. A little too loud and direct for good background during dinner, I think.

Quite nice, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys piano.

Every artist Of any Calibre Needs Positive reviews. and Rob Costlow Stands out from the outset. I felt throughout the album that Rob was going to break-out into song, but instead kept the sweet flow of ivory in the listeners ears James Blunt watch out because there is a new guy in town. I see big things from Rob In the future if only the right people was behind him!!

When I first came here,I found Rob Costlow, then I just couldn't stop listening to him. I don't mean to offend anyone, but the other piano music here I explored later on couldn't impress me at all. I wondered how come I never heard about him before, well,my fault. Now I know he is not only a great panist, but also a nice person with a beautiful family. God must spent a little more time on him.

With good reason, one of the best albums on Jamendo.
One of the best albums I have heard anywhere.

This artist really put his soul into the music as reflected when one listens to his style and I would like to hear more
