This is the best album of Obsidian Shell. It got something new between the lines.

This Album will NOT PUT ANYONE to Sleep! :D Obsidian Shell, delivers a Sonic Tour De Force with a Goth- Symphonic-Metal-Techno Work that is Powerful as it is Lengthy( 12 Tracks). Literally, Electrifying Electric Guitar that Screams-Wails and shakes the Foundation of the World is matched with equal intensity by the Vocals( Female and Male) and ever present Percussion Cadences that thumps-thumps then thumps some more. This Collection is made for People who truly enjoy Ferocious Rhythms as expressed in the Hard Rock tinged Goth-Metal Style that is the anchor of this Album. Likewise, Fans of Techno-Rock will groove to the Point and Counter Point riffs of Electric Guitar and Synthesizer( Track #3. 'Megajabt'). This said the Album has a Lyrical Side that is as Gentle as Spring Rain( Track #4. 'Elszallt A Madar') the Female Vocal is amazing esp paired against a Satanic Gravel Voice counter Vocal. Overall, the Songs “Rock”( pun fully intended :-) .

This album, while still being decent, sounds like "yet another metal album". Here we really miss the originality of Angelic Asylum. First, the overall rythm of the album is slow, way too slow and that makes the songs sound boring after a certain time. Then besides some interesting electronic and guitar parts, there's no much risk taken and songs end up sounding just like the other ones from any other "classic" metal album. The female singer is really talented but lacks ambition. So to sum up, it seems there's not much surprise in this new album. While the very memorable Angelic Asylum blew everything up due to its awesomeness and originality, this one looks really pale, slow and dull in comparison. Not saying that it's a bad album, it's still very decent especially knowing it's free, but we know that Obsidian Shell is capable of much, much better. 6.5/10
