About this album
Number Zero is the first album from a sound travesty. My name is James Enriquez and a sound travesty is the name I operate under. I am the only member of this so called "band." I started recording some stuff from my very humble home recording studio and got excited about the fact that I could actually do this on my own. The first song I recorded was "You Blew Me Away" and I was pretty pleased with it and got a lot of positive feedback.
This first album is pretty rough in the recording sense. I really didn't know what I was doing, but the songs were in my head, haunting me and needed to come out. Over the last 2 years or so, i've recorded over 40 songs and been tweaking them and re-doing stuff that bothered me about them. It's actually been a while that the Number Zero songs have been finished but I never had the nerve to fully share them with the world. All I needed was time and the thought that I didn't want all the time and love I put into them to be in vain.
I was confused about how I would break the songs up into different albums, but I decided not to put too much thought into it, because it would just delay me from doing anything more with them. So my answer was simple, I put the first 15 songs that I recorded on the first album, taking a few out that I didn't feel were good enough. The result is Number Zero, which is a tribute to one of my loves as a child. I used to buy comic books and draw the pictures in them. Sometimes when a brand new line of comics was coming out the very first issue was number zero. This being my first album, I could think of no other title.
So there you have it. I am truly honored to be able to share my creation with you. Thanks for the listen, I really appreciate it.
