This material is a nice collection of compositions very reminiscent of many synthesizer pioneers of the late 1970's to the mid 1980's but with a slightly 'modern feel'. I'm reminded of Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Anthony Philips and Brian Eno in particular. I don't know if CJ Rogers is paying deliberate tribute to these classic artists, but the style here reminds me a lot of these sounds and compositions, in mood and tone. Some of this album seems at first listen to be lacking in complexity, but after paying closer attention, it's all there, in a subtle way. I look forward to listening the rest of CJ Rogers offerings in the coming days ... so far very relaxing rewarding material, and a very solid sense of composition and instrumentation.
