Swedish indie pop group, Emerald Park, will release their GO! GO! GO! EP on Smaragd Records on June 23. The newly-acquired electro aesthetic that is featured in Emerald Park’s latest brings a freedom that roams the genre line, but always holds the same pop bastion that you can count on from the group.
Emerald Park have taken on a somewhat more divergent musical persona of creative expression on GO! GO! GO! . On the release the band joined forces with two different studio producers: Ola Frick of Moonbabies and Carl Granberg (Robyn, Danko Jones) to produce a sound filled with a collection of Moogs, electric guitars, and various synthesizers to go along with lyrics that strive for a more instinctive and meditative tone than on previous outings.
Their single “LiberTeens,” showcases their newfound approach of refined electro pop that is pushed forward with Tobias Borelius’ guitar in contrast to Marina Johansson’s innocuous, lovable vocal delivery. The track’s constant back and forth between the two, gives a sense of cloaked sophisticated arrangement showcased throughout the single.
