Cynicism Management is an alternative / progressive rock band (originating from Slovenia but currently located in Berlin, Germany), dedicated to recording worldwide smash hit singles in odd time signatures. It is a brainchild of vocalist Monika Fritz and multi-instrumentalist, producer and writer Borut Praper. The scheme started out in late 2008 as a "literary musical" experiment: the basic idea was to write a novel featuring a "fictional" band called Cynicism Management and record music to go with it.
The band's first album, poetically entitled Tit (a small bird of the Paridae family) was released in 2011, well before the novel. The "tangible" CD release was followed by a digital release under the AMAdea Music label.
A live lineup of the band had also been formed before the novel saw the light of day and performed at a number of concerts between 2010 and 2012. In 2012 the band published a digital single entitled Opus 0. The last "live incarnation" of Cynicism Management was disbanded in 2012, as its two founding members moved to Berlin, where they continue working on the project.
In July 2013 Cynicism Management - the novel was published by the UK publisher Aventura eBooks. After their move to Berlin, Monika and Borut once again dedicated themselves to studio work and released the four-track Shadow Chasers EP in 2013.
In 2015 the Second Edition of Cynicism Management was self-published by the author due to the lack of control over the first edition. The band, on the other hand, released Pendulum Pet, its second full-length album and "soundtrack" for the novel with the same title, which will be published in 2016.
