"Up" is a project of world / jazz collaboration between the pianist and guitarist Paolo Pavan & Pasqualino Ubaldini. The self-produced, edited by Roberto Pavan for the mixing and mastering shooting, were, for now, "UP" 2014, and "LINES" 2016. In both the predominant character is in relation to the natural flow of our lives, especially in a metropolis like Rome. Contact with feelings and vibrations of sounds and cultures that cross our path, let you enrich it, feed it, and allows us to broaden the original languages and experimentation. The attempt is a search towards the wider musical breath as possible, without borders, without barriers, in complete freedom of composition. Fore contact:

Lines. A heavy Jazz sound with all the subtleties in the percussion and penetrating electric guitar. The light wave carried within the electric piano had a smoothly soothing feeling.
Nije. Initially, a confusing array of sounds that led into the fast, soft hi-hats and strolling bassline that broadened into a spectacular piece of music. The hallmarks of the genre were always visible and firmly stamped on the themes. A comprehensive saxophone solo brought a lot of this together and with the mellow guitar enforced a wonderfully scripted sound.
Talking About Petra. A little relaxed start, but don't be fooled. There was plenty of underlying force and energy within this. However, half way through the theme drifted into a very old school Piano percussion based Jazz that you may well have heard in the fifties. This gradually moved in pace and force to a perfect, sudden and precise conclusion.
Border Line. Slow and beautifully contempri, then enters the superbly placed electric guitar. The percussion and two beat riff carried a soothing edge and made all well in the world. A running piano melody with the hi-hat simply carried more that I can say in words. This, with the strutting guitar carried a feel that you just need to feel for yourself.
A splendid collection of beautifully prepared and delivered pieces of music much of which is indescribable and simply needs to be lived. A wonderful set of sounds that should appeal to all music lovers of most genres.
This Collaborative( Pavan/Ubaldini ) Album is Virtually Pure Jazz; virtually due to the Native Instruments and Middle Eastern Influences heard in Track #7. Handala. These Songs also fall into the category of Jazz(y) Music for People who do not like Jazz because of the Flowing Melodies and Lyrical Consonance of the Harmony such as that heard in Track #1. 'Lines'. The interactions between Guitar, Piano and String Bass is enchanting with non of the Dissonance sometimes associated with Jazz. Overall, a Fine Grouping of Songs to Gather, Dine or simply Sit and Listen while Chilling.
