Flying Hills' Jamendo debut is a solid album that mixes piano and keyboards with background layers of field recordings, spoken samples, scattered beats and other borrowed sounds. Part musique concrète, part ambient it is an album which brings to mind :zoviet*france: and Muslimgauze although the intermittent piano suggests a softer side to the compositions. Most of the tracks shift nicely from one focal point to the next, almost without you noticing. The closing "Part 5: Connections" was the standout track for me, blending some interesting vocal and instrumental samples. I look forward to hearing more of this artist's output in the future.

Automnal !
